your car has that jdm influence look to it, but the fatty tires take away from it and slap American to the look lmao.

Keep it up, its nice to see people contribute to this forum with their bodywork etc.. despite sometimes you face negative comments.

^^^^I have noticed that too. 255-50 are definately meaty, i guess i just got sick of that stretched look, and over compensated by a lot. If i come across a good deal on some 225-45s or something i may pick them up. Definately going 205-40 or similar diameter in the front because cheap fiberglass fenders hate shaking hands with bridgestone potenzas. Ultimately gonna lower it with racing beat springs and tokiko blues.....all i know from the miata and want a similar feel.

Gonna go check on fiberglass drying (metal brackets resined into wing so that bolts will be welded on for mounting purposes). Post pictures soon, gotta go upstairs where there is adequate ventilation.

fat tires are nice, i don't like the stretch look unless your ruining fat as wheels and 18's at least.

dude your car will look good when all done. However those signals on that kit are something I had wanted to see how it would fit for a while thinking it was a great idea but now it looks like that girl because the signals should have gone in place of the FTps in some sort of recessed fashion.

I just skimmed your post and thought that picture was your signature.* I thought "damn this guys kid has problems".* I was wondering if there was programs available to get your poor kid a face.* I hate to see what other fucked up weird children pictures are on your hard drive, lmao. I played with putting them into the ftp area and it looked like a spotlight shining straight up in the air.* like you said, Recessed might have worked though. I also planned on bootleging an re amemiya front bumper using my existing one down the road, and figured they would be in the way.* Hopefully it all looks good when its painted.** I really liked that front bumper you were working on a while back.* Do you have finished pictures?john ny

^^^^^^Not yet, but soon . Had an appointment with guidance counselor at school, which ran way over. Ended up working late too. Maybe tomorrow. Wing is painted and brackets are dry (pic was taken in early bracket stages).

If you eliminate your molding I think the FD lights would look a lot better. Every time I see a pic of your car they look photochopped on at first to me. I think its because they just look so out of place in the middle of the molding.

Francogt1: Thought about running air compressor hose into the basement hahaha, but it would have turned out badly (for the overall air quality of the entire house) i think. Prepped wing outside with 320 and a da sander, then 4 coats of rattle can primer, sanded with 600, spray can duplicolor i think called t346 bright white, let it set up, then duplicolor cleared with 3 coats. Turned out okay, but will do it properly when i repaint the car in aprilish.

hypertek: It is amazing how you have pictures that apply to everything. Quite impressive......i thought i was being original mounting them there, and that picture is probably from 8 years ago. Nice picture.....you are right, car is pretty funky. Definately different.

Juiceh: That is a good call but would be a fairly decent amount of work. Eliminating the trim doesnt bother me nearly as much as welding strips into the doors, then bondo and feathering them.

I guess after typing that it doesnt seem all that bad. Just have a wierd mental block i have to get over.

anybody feel free to chime in.

lol in my 240sx days i had alot of japanese sites bookmarked for reference in style ideas etc.. its nice to see how these cars are tuned and modified in their home country so I dont usually call it rice unless its really tacky. Sometimes i still check out those links just to see whats up. lol

Temporarily mounted wing. Did not drill holes in deck lid or weld bolts to wing yet, but here are pictures of the fit with window mounting screws only..........ultimately wing will fit closer to the body when widebody is trimmed. Whats that white pixel issue in pictures 2 and three you ask? Is my 2 megapixel camera shitty.....yes....but its actually snow. I am done tonight. **** precipitation in the form of crystalline water ice.

Side note......**** duplicolor too. Same paint number on sides yeilded a different color than the wing with the same amount of coats and clear.

looks like a Jap Fc if you ask me.... i was waiting to see how it would look with the wide body since i only seen it on stock bodied fc, but Not to shabby i would say.

If you trim the widebody were the wing goes it will seat alot better but the widebody on the sides were the wing goes that will make it even more flush with the over all body lines.

Looks Good bro to bad this Weather sucks ***.

will look good once everything is trimmed and tidy.

Thanks guys.......Yup full reshoot next april. Slowly been accumulating 2x4s, tarping and shitty window fans to construct "Der projekt ghettoboothen" the day before the paint job. I mentally view it two toned similar to the origin picture ( http://www.intensepower.com/orlabstbokit1.html ) black up top and some funky, but still tasteful "hater fuel" bottom color. It will be different.
Hypertek: Molding would make the most sense, but in the land of shitty drivers and shopping carts with rx7 seeking homing devices, it is not the wisest decision. The miata is the show vehicle. This i built to be a semi-aggressive, clean daily driver and dont want to lose sight of that. When everything fits better, and more importantly the same color, things will look a lot cleaner. I have 4 different colors back there now. Stock faded white over tail lights, new white body color, POOPlicolor 1 and POOPlicolor 2.

looks good.

I am in the process of trying to figure out how mine will look when I am done. I am making my own wide body also simply because I can't find one that I like. I also like stuff that is one of a kind. Good work I like to see some one get their hands dirty and at least try. The more fiberglass you work with the better you get. The wheel spacers are safe if you use the proper grade hardware (no cheap knock off parts). Wheel spacers have nothing to do with horse power so ignore any coments trying to relate the two. The wider wheel stance will certanly increase handling and a nine inch wide tire is by no means narrow. Good luck and Great pics.

^^^^Thanks gtmachine. Just plan it out better than i did, thats all. I woke up that morning wanting a bmagic kit from scratch that bolted on and off for 70 dollars and lost sight of the design end. Take your time and plan. That fiberglass forums link that hypertek posted on page one will be very helpful. If you are molding in the widebody kit, it will be 1000 times easier. Any questions feel free to pm me. Good luck with the build remembering ..... Most people arent gonna have your "different taste" and you will catch ****. Thats what makes your car yours though, and its well worth it.

yeah but its from Japan's tuning scene and that is all that matters to you. I'm still waiting for the cliche reference to how this forum doesn't tune or style their cars like the projects or completed cars that you buy from people who have built them. I never knew such things mattered so much but whatever. Your boat of cookies I guess.

BTW: I think that 180sx looks like pure **** and is ricey as all get out.

To the OP. Car looks great! I will admit, at first I was like "WTH!!!???" but the finished product of those rear pieces looks top notch from the pictures. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. Looks really good.
