widebody from scratch

Well i spent some of last weekend and today working in the kit. Not sure how i feel about 2 things.

1.... the look? Wasted 70 dollars and 11 hours to realize that, still worth it i guess. Gonna shoot them white on monday. May look alot better than the 2 pink hemmeroids hangin off the sides.

2...... The ******* spacers. 50mm is huge. They are ebay too. It is not a track car, but i do get a little rough on the street sometimes.

rims are 16x8 -1 front
16x9+32 ish rear

Post comments. Use this as a chance to get your post count up. I want feedback on safety more than anything followed by opinions on the kit. If you hate it, explain why. If you like it do the same.

hey shitty **** with the rice bowl, "if you hate it explain why". Or pm it to me if you are worried about the ban. Boxyness is an issue. Front fenders were the shitfit 170.00 ebay joints. What about some feedback regarding safety with 50mm spacers? I might just bite the bullet cut my losses and get the raceonusa 50mm ones or maybe the 30s and stick out a 3/4 of an inch.

If you need big *** spacers just to have a widebody you're doing it wrong. What do you have like 140hp?

One of my problems is that advan only makes the oni wheel in 16x9 with a 32 or so offset. Kinda sucks for me. Front all widedout but rear looked calista flockhartfull. So i figured spacers would even things out proportionately.

140hp..... nope.

Yes they are safe but what is the point of a widebody with narrow *** wheels? You don't want to be like dkwasherexd do you?

You can squeeze 10.5's in the rear if you do your math.

spacers can be used to tune the cars handling, and also sometimes if the person rocks high disk calipers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQS4MGWfJbA

If you've ever seen a sleek, European sedan with that oh-so-low street stance and a bulging wheel/ tire combo that just barely tucked under the wheel wells, chances are that car was fitted with H&R TRAK+ wheel spacers. TRAK+ wheel spacers move the wheel out from the hub, effectively widening the stance of the vehicle and lowering its roll center. This simple modification increases lateral stability, which in turn provides improved handling, greater safety and of course, the sleek style you've been looking for.

Yes spacers increase track with and handling but do you really someone with stretched tires really cares about performance?

Ahhh yes, the stretched tires. Finally a good point turbo2rotor. Stretched tires came with the rims (in my diggitydefense ). I wouldnt have swapped in the luce engine if i didnt care about overall performance. This car IS a work in progress. I plan on upgrading suspension at some point too. I have reached my budget for total money in car at 4 grand. Real widebody and suspension will put me at about 5 grand total. Some cheap shortcuts worked with the car so far, this one might not. I will post paint pics monday. My miata is a finished product. Not the engine cover though, i forgot to NOT post that picture hypertek. I will send you what i have so far though. pm me your email.

regarding the stretch tires... to each his own. We all got different tastes/driving preferences.

dawicka, i dont need the pics nemore. its cool. Have you seen this thread? http://fiberglassforums.com/showthread.php?t=920
I know the car isnt that cool *its a cavalier lol* but I can appreciate the time and work he did to it, a good job on making the widebody.

ur dumb, you know alot of D1 drifters use spacers? Some use spacers bigger than me, some use 50mm and have almost 500 hp, why do they use spacers? cuz its hard to get fitment right on the money especialy if you change your tire setup on the same rim and their wheel sponsors wont always give them the perfect fitment. PPL arent ballin, they cant just buy every size rim. To you everybody is ricer, so I say your dumb dumb
