whats your winter projects?
so whats your winter projects?
mine is to put the s5 conversion on my car. Im not doing it to be a "me too" car, im doing it because I have had this car the same way for so long that I need to change it up a bit, and because I have had the parts laying around for a few years so why not.
Im going to remove the doors and trunk and paint the jambs- they are original paint. While the doors are off im going to remove the chip guard from the lower portion of the doors.
Put a aluminum hood on the car- I currently have a steel hood due to the cost of a aluminum hood when I painted the car a million years ago. I have TII side skirts for it, and im going to modify the S5 front bumper a little bit.
Im also going to put coupe tailights on the car, being that I will lose the keyhole I can run a emergency trunk release cable out the bottom of the car should the one in the car fail.
Lastly new rims and tires, well not NEW rims, but new to me, 3piece volk gtu meshies that I am going to take apart and restore, give the car that era correct look ( unless I come up with a set of Aegis wheels instead )
Lastly I got some sweet mazdaspeed leather seats with custom slides/brackets, while I have the seats out I might put the black carpet that I have had sitting around for like 5 years in the car. I also have black s5 door panels but im not sure if that will look good with the rest of my gray interior.
I got to get to business at work and get some things done, but hopefully I can sneak the car into the shop and get cracking on somethings so I can have the car all ready to go when the warm weather comes around, right now I have not started the car in over a month.

cleaning and redoing my interior, slow process because some of the parts are hard to find in good condition used or I have to find them new, and later next month the new top is getting put on.

I almost forgot I have to replace my wolf with the newer version I have, but I think thats going to wait until I redo the fuel system and tune it for E85. Will be able to switch between a super unleaded map and a E85 map just incase I get stuck somewhere with no E85.

Working on getting all my oil leaks fixed. So far it looks like maybe my OMP which I already have a rebuild kit for. Also mounting my sub box. Its pretty firm where it is and I've done some slides in it and the box hasn't moved but its more for safety sake. Then redo my amp wiring (just organize it and replace two wires.) Then start fixing some of my broken trim.

60-1 turbo, 44mm WG, 1680cc secondaries, dual pumps w/parallel fuel lines, Power FC ECM, stronger clutch, C's Short shifter, and I think that's all. Going to shoot for the 400+RWHP club.

I have a greddy fmic and shineauto kit ready to go on. Parts I still need are, gsl-se injectors for the secondaries, rtek 2.1, apexi twin chamber bov, and greddy profec b spec ii. These mods will go in too the spring, and should have the car ready to drive sometime in april. Hoping to see around 225hp, with a good tune.
Once may hits, the car will get the shineauto kit installed with a black and dark green flake spray.
As the summer gets closer, i'll need a koyo rad with samco hoses, and I want this mod done asap, because the fmic will obviously block the rad up pretty good. Then to upgrade to a bnr stage 2 s5 turbo from my s4. Along with another set of 680cc gsl-se injectors. Hoping to sit around 250-300hp with this setup.

Hell when its over 100-110 deg each afternoon, it becomes a slow process.

Nice ms seats. Rims are dope too, rob.
Plans have included cutting widebody, prepping wing, swapping throttlebody, replacing 2ndaries with non leaking 720s and rtek upgrade to 1.7 and begin prep for paint. I am so lazy in the cold and havent done *****.

I'll be finishing the S5 TII into my S4 N/A before spring arrives. All I need is to buy an EMS and get it tuned. Since I'm also in school for this stuff as well, I'll be tearing down the tranny and the diff, as well as doing a brake overhaul on the whole car since it's been sitting for a long time (Pads & rotors all around, as well as any lines since I live in the Rust Belt).

Well one of my verts I just need to keep it running. I'm trying to track down a starting issue with it atm. The real project is my other vert. Before summer hits, about May time, I want to have the car on the ground with wheels on it. Right now it's on jackstands with the dash in the engine bay lol. I'm waiting on parts to be powder coated before I can put the rear end back in atm, then put the gas tank in, new brakes and suspension and the other little odds and ends.
