I got to sneak some parts in between jobs at the shop, tomoroww I plan on bringing the car in, taking the doors and trunk off and prepping and spraying the jambs, when I painted the car originally I left the jambs original, now I want to shoot them over.
Going to also strip the chip guard from the doors as well for when the side skirts go on.
I will mask the bottom of the hood and spray the top hopefully this weekend as well- then at least I can get the car inside after work and just put it together instead of having to paint anything else on the car itself.
I sprayed the bumpers hanging upside down so no airborne dirt landed on the more visable parts, everything will get sanded and polished anyhow, just trying to cut down on the dust because my shop is very dusty.

Hey Rob, you're on LI. Do you know anyone locally who does media blasting? I am getting ready to really hunker down and finish the vehicle. I would like to clean my parts real nice.
It's just the intake manifolds, water pump housing, front cover, and some other miscellaneous pieces. I like the plain old aluminum. I don't want to go overboard and start painting. I've spent too much already

the only problem with raw alum. is that it will corrode and be harder to keep clean, if your into cosmetics you wont be happy with the raw alum. finish
I got the car in my shop today, doors and fenders are off, im about to take a break and run home for a little bit then im coming back to mask everything and spray the
jambs and the other side of the hood.

now this is what I call weight reduction!
I mean really- whats the matter with us that we take apart perfectly working and operating cars and do this to them?
On a Saturday night no less!

got the jambs done and the top of the hood, got to flip the doors and get rid of the chip guard, then I can put the car back together.
Test fit a coupe light, have to trim some metal but they will work, once I have them fitted I will smoke/clear them. Can you tell by the dust on them that I have had them sitting in my storage at the shop for like 4 years?

got everything sanded and polished, now started to bolt everything back on the car.
Got the doors and pass fender on, S5 mirrors, door moldings, rear bumper, rear body moldings all on.
Just have to get the other fender on, hood, and bumper, I was not sure if I was going to mount the front bumper right away
because I want to change the AC condensor, but I could just squueze in through the engine compartment side to do that I guess.
Also still up in the air over what type of mesh to put in the bumper opening, either stainless or black- not sure yet?

aint using those wheels anymore, I wont get to see the seats in the car until I swap out the carpet, I have had a original black carpet in my basement storage for like 5 years now.

the hood is sanded awaiting polishing, I gave it a quickie polish, have to go at it some more.
cant wait to get the front bumper back on, I have some work to do up there before I can put it back on, hopefully by the end of next week.

Very nice! I really want a black fc.
It's a bit late for a winter project, but my summer "project" is to get a new fc, as mine is rusty and not worth messing with. I'll probably get a roller and transfer the necessary stuff from my current car, then I can think about mods.

I have tein coilovers on my coupe and it scrapes everything, the vert scrapes the exaust here and there and the lip of course scrapes, any lower and I would really be paranoid about driving it.
I purposely did not put coilovers in this car because I did not want the harsh ride like my coupe has.
