whats your winter projects?

dropped off all the ac lines to get fabbed up, going with all new lines using the mazda compressor fittings with AN adaptors welded on them.
I got tired of looking at it in the shop so I pulled it outside to stick it in its tent, right now I figure im about 50lbs light in the front end right now compared to before all this, so I think the front end will settle in some once I actually drive the car.

got my AC lines and fittings figured out, Ive been busy at work the last few weeks so I have not given the car much thought.
Hope to get everything back on the front of the car today, then I can bolt the bumper up later in the week after I finish putting it together.
I ended using ends from FD AC lines on the compressor side, Im using a FD compressor and tensioner on a TII manual steering AC bracket.
I had to weld where the lines exited shut and then welded AN adaptors onto the fittings so that I could also aim them where I needed them to be, from there I had custom lines made to go to the new condensor I got, and to the line on the firewall.
Putting all new O-rings and a new dryer in, now I wont be sweating like a filthy farm animal if I get stuck in traffic.

I have the AC on hold until I can bring it back in to get charged, have to swap out 2 more o-rings to the new green style o-rings, but I wanted to start getting the rest of the car back together.
I test fitted the bumper, still have to do some minor trimming around the IC pipes so that I get the bottom of the bumper to come in more, thats why I could not get the lip on, as you can see I damaged my lip, did that at the end of last year, have not sprayed it until I fit it on the car.
Still undecided as to what to do with the IC slots, leave them as is and paint the top of the IC black, or put black stainless mesh in the opening.
I feel like I will never get this thing back together, its my busy time at work and I have had no time to work on it.
Im going to tint/clearcoat the front markers.

finally feel like I might be getting somewhere.
My wolf wiring adaptor came in for my V500, so have to do some light re-wire so I can run the newer wolf with its built in boost controller, also install the MSD.
I finally got to spray my cowl trim that goes at the base of the windshield, I did that in satin finish so it looks original, and I am clearcoating/smoking my front turn signals and tailights and center section now.
Just have to trim the bumper a little more and take this thing for a drive to get tuned, hopefully in the next few weeks.

I fitted the bumper a little more, think I have it where I want it so now I can take the front lip off and respray it. Thats the last piece of the car I have to spray.
I got the coupe lights in, I really like them without the keyhole. I just need to run my emergency trunk release out the bottom of the car incase the in-car one breaks one day so I can still get in the trunk.
I have some time coming to me this weekend so I may do the carpet and the seats, not sure yet as I may want to get the car back to Waynespeed so he can install the V500 Wolf and do my retune and bother with the seats and the carpet later.
Think tomoroww if its not raining I will take it and put some gas in it, make sure no couplers want to fall off because I also put fully polished all stainless t-bolt clamps in place of the partially stainless clamps I had in the engine compartment.
put the smoked/cleared front markers in and just sat the FTP lenses in place to snap a photo

this is my plan for the 2009 season:
1-sell my 02 Acura TL-s for $7,000
2-buy wheels/tires, TII rb revII exhaust, Corksport S4 front lip, shine auto project rear diffuser, koyorad, v-mount setup, R-tec 1.7, banzai racing engine mount's, mazda competition mounts everywhere else, K-sport kontrol pro coilover's
i allready have alot of other parts stock piled in my house, alot of them are maintence stuff, or things like factory upgrades (silicone vac lines, blockoff plates, gear oil's, exedy clutch, jdm rain visor's, hawk hps brake pad's, power slot rotor's, stainless clutch line)i usually try to buy a few new parts every week, but bills always seem to happen. Ive been looking for a used driveshaft to replace my current one with a binding U-joint, may just pickup a mazdatrix aluminum one, and polish it for the hell of it.
gonna leave the FC in the garage until the Acura sells, ill do all the work once i order the parts and they all arrive.
hopefully it sells soon...

I used to spend all my money on a car and drive a **** pail everyday, then I got sick of it and realized you need balance.
I believe in this so much that im thinking of selling my other FC and getting something nicer to drive everyday, maybe a G8.
IM tired of spending all this time and money on the cars to hop into a ho-hum car to drive everyday. I have the Cherokee, my wife has the G37, when
I drive her car I realize that by buying HER that car it still does not satisfy MY daily driving needs enough, lol
So I would keep the TL and sell the civic!

^You missed a spot...
It's nice to have a reliable new car. I have an '08 Civic Si. Some may cry "***!" But... I have a warranty, a whopping 4 mile round trip commute to the train station, 6 speed, and I put gas in once a month. Having my headache FC doesn't hurt either though.

Sanded and polished my hood this evening, it had rained all day and was cloudy out when I took the pictures, but you can see the clouds in the reflection, thought the pictures came out cool for my cheapo camera.
I had some time with this damm hood. I had purchased it in the fall, it arrived not as advertised with some damage on it. I had a paintless dent guy do his thing because I did NOT want a black hood with ANY bodywork on it. My old steel hood was 10000% perfect, but it was heavy.
So I stripped the paint down to the original primer, funny how everytime you get used body parts they are from some color car you never seen? Well this hood came a dark white that was almost gray.
I primed it, and thats when I noticed there were dimples going inward. Turns out the adhesive that holds the skin of the hood to the supports had gone bad and was pulling the skin in. This is the second time I have seen this on a FC hood. I heated them up and popped them out, but they were still there- so I had the paintless dent guy come back again and do his thing. We ended up releasing almost all the glue spots.
Then I urethaned some thin neoprene strips to the supports so that when you lean on the hood to clean it or wax it does not flex all over the joint.
So0000000000 you can see why I am so rejoiced over this hood project.
