What do you do when your car gets rain on it

I have had my FC for about 2 years. Today it got rain on it. I had fun driving it in the rain and playing with the roundabouts. When I got it back in the garage though I wasn't quite sure about how to manage the rain water. I ended up hosing it off well and then drying with microfiber. I didn't want road-grime and acid rain to stay on it. do you guys do anything special when rainwater gets on your FC?

i park the stupid thing.

i never worry about my car to the extent of "acid rain" killing the paint even if i just got it back from the spray booth.

just about anything can be buffed out, it gets waxed about 2 times a year, that's plenty.

it really just depends on you though, i don't have time to wash my car after every 15 minute drive so it gets washed every few months.

My tip: Don't lean on the car when it gets rain on it.

You shouldn't be concerned about rain water. Most people leave their cars outside full-time.

Mike, most of us live in places that it rains more than twice a year. LOL We just drive them, wash them, and wax them occasionally. Repeat as needed. Heh.

my sunrise red paint looked like turd brown from sitting in los angeles for 10 years of it's life so i guess i really wasn't too worried about it, it all buffed out and more resembles it's original color but i do plan on repainting it soon. even then i doubt i will worry about paint fading or crap getting on it periodically, it's going to get dirty so i just enjoy the car versus trying to keep it in showroom condition.

the worst thing i worry about is a transmission tipping over onto the driver's door to match the passenger door...

The hose water you sprayed on it is probably way worse for it than the rain water can be With all the crap they put in city water nowadays. lol

unfortunately that is probably true, hard water from the tap water is more likely to leave mineral deposits which are worse than anything that falls from the sky.

don't park your car next to your sprinklers for a few weeks or you will see what i mean.

Mike, IMMEDIATELY use your heated de-ionized water tap with a ph neutral soap. After a thorough drying; roll into the hermetically sealed chamber and draw a .35" Hg Absolute pressure on the chamber to vaporize any remaining water. You know the rules!

My car once saw some rainclouds and I had to put it down.
Someone should make a vehicle that can withstand water, that would be awesome.

It's a bit of a parody of this thread: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...ain-on-it.html

To answer the question though, I wash the car every few months maybe. I keep it in a garage when I'm not driving it and I don't drive it in the rain unless I happen to get caught in it. When a car gets this old the sun and rain will age it quickly. My old GTU was a daily driver and that sat in the rain.

There are a lot of cool Porsche owners. I've hung out with the local Porsche club some. I have seen many more M3 douchebags.

Around here, they dont even give you the time of day! I pulled up next to one in traffic one day, it was a NIIIIIIIICE 911 turbo. Seeing as we had been window to window for a while, I looked over and said "Hey man, that's a beautiful machine." He just looked at me, gave no expression and turned away saying nothing. Not even a "thanks man!" Rude. I've had similar experiences from others as well...

Nothing is worse than the jetta douchebag club in my area. ******* kids think it's cool to race around the parking lot with the E up so they can spin tire, only to park right where they are doing it and eat at applebees. No respect what so ever.
