Wow, I'm really sorry Chris. I know where a 86 GXL is, and the guy said I could have it once he took the fenders and LSD (Just gotta tow it). All I want is the doors, 5-lug, and black interior. I'd be more than happy to let you have the chassis. And if you do get it towed to Collin's, or anywhere around here, I'd be happy to give you a hand.

And be happy- the tails are still good

Well I need a passenger door, can I have the one that's on your car now? I'd love that chassis. I have my own fenders, hood, interior, front bumper, engine, transmission, the drive shaft and LSD, and 5 lug hubs. (just leave the rear end including suspension if you can (take off the hubs ONLY and your car can be converted to 5-lug)) but I'd love that. If you take out the whole rear end, give me yours and I'll put my 5-lug hubs on it.

That's really nice of you.

Oh come on. That'll buff out.

Check this **** out.

Yeah, you like that ****?

See people? This is what you get with idiotic "spirited" driving on public streets.

I had just replaced my s5 OMP. This was my first test drive after finally installing that (somewhere around) $350 part (new from any parts store). I mean seriously, that failing part had made me lose to a Cavalier. Stupid ****** Limp Mode bullshit. In case you're wondering, my check engine light never came on even after it was flipped.

I dont want to set anything in stone just yet, because I havent talked a whole lot to the guy with the car. Like I mentioned before, he's keeping the fenders and LSD. And I just want the interior, doors, and 5-lug. And maybe a few little things here and there. A hatch with a wiper sounds cool . Other than that everything should go fine. Towing it all's gonna be the bitch .

I have hatch with wiper as well. If it all seems to be gonig nicely, I'd really like the chassis. I just need the suspension set up, so if you want the GXL suspension I'm screwed. I might just save some money and buy an S5 GTU shell (with body and hopefully no power windows as they break easily) and move all my S4 TII stuff over, including the wiring harness. then sell the S5 gauges, the spare tails, my electric TII door mirrors, and be happy.

Damn. By the sounds of it though you've come out of this with a little more consideration for your driving habits. Just don't forget the most expensive lessons are the ones you have to learn twice.....

Good luck on finding a swap candidate, don't leave the game yet!

Chris, I can help you find a cheap shell. There's a few that I know of.

Give me a call, bud.

How can you blame the motorcycle when the rider never rode a bike or learned how to ride properly?
Hey, we all screw up sometimes... I've lost control of the rear end twice on 2 curves around here and ended up facing the opposite direction I was traveling, but luckily I didn't go off the road and noone was coming from the other way. Sometimes counter-steering and braking just wont keep it in the right direction. **** happens to everyone, even you... I'm just glad I still have my car.

I think Collin might be giving me his old AAS Rears, but wouldn't your suspension transfer over to the GXL? Or are things different? I've never really looked into how turbo's go as far as that. I tried calling that guy today but I just got their answering machine. I'll try again tomorrow or Friday. And this may seem out of place, but how did you go about painting the car?

Got a friend to paint the car, and I am just going to try and save for a rolling shell that has everything (maybe even the blown motor still in it), so there is less to worry about in terms of what I won't HAVE to switch over but it becomes more of a choice of what I WANT to switch over. And the problem with the suspension isn't if it'll bolt right in, but it's in terms of what I'm going to find broken on my car when I start to take it apart (the rear passenger wheel has about 10 degrees of unwanted positive camber, and roughly 20 degrees of unwanted toe out, stuff is DEFINITELY bent in regards to my suspension).
