Wow, thats kinda scary...
Anyway, at the place I go to get parts all the people know about rotaries, or at least the basics. One of the managers at another Advance Auto in town has several FC's, so I guess they found out from him or something.

Clerk- "Just one second, let me go grab it."
Me- "Ok"
He walks off and go gets it.
Clerk- "Here you go" He pauses..... "Rx-7 aye.... I had one of those, they rev like a son of a bitch!"
Me- "Yeah, ok"

Its funny everyone is like OOOH I HAD ONE of those... I'm like so what, you don't have one now... lol

i usually get the "that's loud" and "how many pistons does it have?" stuff. my friend told me he saw a guy with a yellow fc and this was his conversation-
friend -nice car, is it n/a or turbo?
him -it's a 350 h/p na
friend - really? what are your mods?
him - well it's going to be turbo'ed in the future so right now i got an intercooler hooked up and it's been bored out to 3.2L.
friend- what? do you mean street ported?
him - no, it's bored and sroked to 3.2L
friend - *walks away*

i remember one from a while ago. it was a guy selling his 7 on e-bay, and he stated that the 13b was named because it had 13 parts. so i sent him a message stating that he was wrong and it is named for the displacement, and it has way more than 13 parts.

 

I had a sales lady at the Mazda Dealership tell me that about the engine cover on an RX-8 when they first came out.


I've had nice Porsche, Ferrari and others.... Then not to long ago while I was pumping gas a kid came up and said "nice body kit"....

 

I put headers on my '88 GXL and called up my friend who's into cars, put the phone on the ground by the exhaust and revved the motor for him, he said asked me if i bought a streetbike??

I've gotten the , "oh yeah, a rotary right , their shaft spins right??"

Oh and one time, a the shop flooded my GXL and told me that I needed a new motor, I told them to pull the Fuel fuse and the plugs and oil, and blah blah blah and they just thought it was the wierdest thing. It started for them and they were amused. I haven't taken it to that garage since.

 

"The 13B has a 4th apexi seal on the back of the motor" If I fought with him I knew he wouldn't let it die so I changed the subject. lol He did say he has a nice 1st gen, maybe he just didn't know any better.

i have a kid in my auto tech class and he gives me all this **** cuz i have an fc that i pay and work for on my own, and he has this 400hp fd that hid dad works on and pays for. i know the car exists and ive seen it in real life and ive seen vids of it on the track. the ******* thing never runs. we will start talking about our cars and ill talk about mine and hell just blurt stupid **** out, "HAHAHAH, OH YEAH LIKE YOU CAN DO **** IN THAT WEAK *** FC, WHY DONT YOU GEY A RRREEEAAALLL RX7 THEN WE'LL TALK *** BOY" "im just like why dont you figure out a way to get your high and mighty fd to run then we'll talk" he always comes back with some dumb excuse like "its a race car, it only needs to run on race day" look im sorry if i offend someone in here, some of you may even own an fd, but fd owners are ******** who think they are better because they have 2 turbos and their car was in the fast and the furious. once again im sorry if i offend some one.
