Stupid/Funny/Random things said about the FC
Lol, high altitude is mainly the reason. It was a rebuilt motor, just n/a, stock engine, with an intake and exhaust. Dyno'd 101 to the wheels, with 115 lbs/tq. The Turbo II that dyno'd that day was in the low 140's. I'm definitely curious to see what my swap will put out, once I'm finished with everything.
Not necessarily, cuz yes, they were opening, and yes, the dyno was fine, lol. I was running very rich, even for a rotary (that got me to get the SAFC-II), I also adjusted the timing shortly after that, and it was a little off, so I assumed that's why it was lower than what it could've been. But even so, with the SAFC-II and proper timing, I doubt I would've ever broken 115 with that engine. Not here in the Rocky Mtns, haha.
I was at a local fast food joint today and someone that works there saw my headlight cover with the inlet duct, and when i was trying to explain it to him he just couldnt understand what i was getting at. He kept saying why dont all cars have that and why dont run a CAI.
long story short. he just doesnt get it

I got my 2nd fc a few months ago. And my buddy didn't understand why I was so excited about the car. I tell him it has a rotary in it and it's turbocharged.
Him- okay So what's a rotary
Me- it's the motor it was no pistons and one 3 moving parts
Him- what?
Me- (pulling my phone out going to YouTube and pulling a video on the motor) here watch this

don't start on the technical issues of just how many moving parts there are, cuz if you sit down and think about it, there's a bunch more. (side seals, corner seals, apex seals etc.)
A piston ring is a type of spring itself. Otherwise how would it seal without pressure against the cylinder wall? If a piston ring is just along for the ride, so is an apex seal. Let's just leave it at the fact a reciprocating piston engine has substantially more parts than a rotary engine, despite the actual number.
.....
I was going to school to pick up my friend, and she has never seen or heard my car. so here how the conversation went sadly.
Her- hey i thought u said your car was nice
me- Wtf.... it is.
Her- aha um its sounds like some thing is broken in that junk.
me- aha nah my car just has a different engine aha i runs hella smooth
Her- um mk leme drive it then.
me- um........ ight whatever
i get out of car so she can drive herself home and i get in passenger seat. as shes driving home shes like.
Her- WTF. how is it so smooth
me- thats the rotary for you
Her- **** i love it, i want one.
me- aha mhm
5 minutes later im at my house and im like wtf drive to ur house and shes like nah ima just drop you off and borrow the car...... i laughed so hard aha i took my keys out and was like i thought this was a piece of crap aha. "This made my day"

Piston rings = side & apex seals on our engines. You further reinforce the fact there are 3 major moving parts on our engines. But hey to stay on topic, Stupid/Funny/Random things said about the FC:
Seals in our engines being considered moving parts.
