Theres this hick from school that pisses me off all the time...
If were ever talking about my car, I get this:

-Yeah it has to have pistons; it wont run without them
-My 82 Malibu will smoke that piece of sh*t
-If it's got 4 plugs then it's a 4 cyl. dumbass

And all this comes from the kid who leaves marks coming out of the school
in his dad's 91 dodge dakota...

And his big bad 'malibu' has been in the shop for a few months
because he wrecked it tring to race someone....

I thought it would be funny hanging a piston from the rear tow hook, I get "whats that for" or "Is that a piston hanging", I usually tell them its a joke, or that I was going so fast that when i shifted into 4th gear a piston flew out the exhuast.

I like that piston hanging thing. I think I'll hang a miata piston from mine tomorrow. BTW, I love my rotisary engine. You know, the kind with the rubber bands in it.

I love pop-up lights

I was wearing my "no pistons" shirt with the piston inside the red circle with the line slashed through it to a local starbucks and the girl at the counter said "what do pistons do for a car?" "Well they make most cars work.." "And your car doesn't have any pistons?" "Yes" "So your car doesn't move right?" "No I have a rotary engine so it has no pistons...but it still runs" "oooooooookaaaaaay...riiight" after that she just gave me the most confused look...classic

i had a story now i cant freaking remember it, happened with a new fc owner friend of mine. anywho, now that i work at frys, i keep getting approval nods (racing exhaust), or hella confused looks, or i get mugged, no offense to anyone, but i am SOOOOOOOO sick of freaking mexicans rolling up on me with thier music on way too loud and revving up.

one think i don't like about my car is the horn placement. i will be turning the wheel or be park some where and go reach for some thing and "beeep". opps. what exactly is the door handle thing. is it where you have to hold up the handle for the door to lock?
my favorite thing is to be looking at a performance book like Jegs and turn to the guy next to me and say " what are those?" point to a cam or piston kit. the one i get the most is you know you car won't make it past 100k. my reply is they last just as long as a piston engine if you take care of them.

People keep staying "sticky this, sticky that" but they don't THINK about what that means. If the mods stuck every thread that people wanted, we would have 3 pages of sticky threads....Not to mention that this thread is just for "fun" and really doesn't contain any technical info.

so i get to a mobil station and pick up a bottle of 2 stroke oil so i can premix my gas and as i'm checking out the guy at the counter hands me a funnel, i told him no thanks the oil is for the gas so i don't need a funnel. he then feels that his life's goal is to prevent me from putting oil in my gas and follows me outside cuz he thought i was joking and was like "oh my god man you're gunna mess your motor up, ohh **** why'd you do that!?!?!?
.....i told him it was good for the engine and he should do it to his car........moron.


ohhh, and i always seem to get the jackass "my car didn't catch on fire" "piece of ****" sounds llike a lawnmower" comments from my friends who have cars that ive spanked including my buddy's fwd Audi TT.....rediculous

So I went down to KY from my house in Ohio. 5 hr drive, boring as hell, to pick up a GXL with 'electrical problems'. It was cheap so I didn't care, I brought a trailer. I get down there, load it up, head back. On the way back, every single car that would pass us would have their eyes glued on the car. Pretty much the same reaction, WTF is that? It made my day, apparently no one has ever seen an FC before.

As a side note, the person I bought it from who seemed like he knew what he was doing, definitely tried to swap an s4 engine into an s5 after the s5 blew, and then couldn't get it running using the s5 harness...

Oh well, time to turbo swap.

After reading all of these posts; and your comments to other people about our cars, I can see why people think guys who own RX-7s are a$$holes. All I hear is "Dude, your a moron if you don't know what these engines are" or "omg my car doesn't look like a porsche/ferrari/delorean/prelude." Just because they don't know anything about rotary engines or RX-7s doesn't makes them a complete retarded moron. I run into those ignorant people at car shows, car meets, anything car related. I get the same questions thrown at me all the time, but it doesn't bother me. It doesn't make me smarter, faster, or altogether a BETTER PERSON just because I know what a rotary engine is. I don't know what this attitude is, but it needs to change. Our cars are unique, so lets stop tainting the RX-7 name and let other people know that the guys who drive them are just as unique as what's underneath their hood.

I honestly think some of the ignorant questions are from ignorant owners. As in 'Dude, that have a v6?' is because someone he knew either had an RX7 and thought it was a v6 or someone told him it was as a joke and he bought it, something like that.

I agree, I am completely friendly and explain things to people who ask questions. I've heard some dumb things, Supras being fwd, RX7's being fwd, mustangs being fwd, boosted cars being n/a, visa versa. If I can straighten one kid out I had a good day. Now for those morons you get who sit there and talk about their car for 15minutes or more when it something like a Dodge Shadow (a specfic example that came to mind) and you keep trying to change the subject to something non automotive or have a more important conversation with someone else, then you are asking for me to *** with you.

I guess your right, I am guilty of being a dick about my car...Since my 7 is my first car I know more about rotaries then pistons so sometime I have to ask "dumb" questions about piston engines and people have the same reaction "dude you didn't know that? what a moron..." so I kinda know how it feels and where they're comin' from, but I guess for me a it's a bit more extreme to not know a whole lot about every other car in the world *sigh* I feel ignorent...

ok for everyone that think this a negative thread then i advise reading the first post on here yes i believe we should be nice to people who dont know about the 7 but at the same time this post was created to see what random funny stupid comments we get when people see our cars thats it and thats all but i do also agree that we should be a little more friendly to those who dont know but you have to admit its funny especialy when you try to explain what your car is but most of the time and im pretty sure everyone on here can agree that we sometimes defend our cars more than answer questions mabe thats why they are being called morons but you have to look at both sides

Yeah, I know what this post was for and I was enjoying it at first! I know what it's like when there is someone asking some really ludicrious questions about my car and sometimes I have to hold myself back. Stuff like about the driven wheels, displacement, what the purpose of having a rotary engine is... but the more I read the posts on this thread, the more I became angry. I've received negative comments but the worst by far, was how RX-7 owners were arrogant, stuck-up ba$tards. Some of my friends even pointed me to how bad the people were on this forum were! "Sleepy eyes", "jdm", and sometimes "clear corner lenses" were FLAMED mercilously. It upset me that I am judged by my car. I even owned and DD a Honda at one time; I rolled with Supras, 240s, 300ZXs, and FD's, and was well received by everyone. It's you who makes the car, not the other way around guys.

On a different note, I got a story:

I was driving home from a car meet when a brand new '06 Subaru Impreza STi rolled up next to me. Guy in the passenger seat rolls down his window and goes "Hey bud, wanna race?" "Nah man, I ain't that crazy!" "Awww come on! It's an RX-7!" After that, I took my exit and went home thinking..... wow, either that guy in the Subi though I was really fast, or he just wanted to embarass me really bad. Lol, just thought I share that tidbit with you all ^_^.

Yeah, I had a guy in a heavily modded (close to 400 HP) SRT-4 try to race me a while back. I just shook my head no. I refuse to race anyone on the street anyway, but he would have smoked me bad.

Oh, I got a great one...
One time i was on the RX7 forum, and this guy was all but hurt casue we weren't being nice to piston guys, and we weren' t sharing the rotory love. So he used the forum as hos personal psyciatrist until he shared all his feelings. Then we called him a moron and told him to F-off.
Man that day was funny...

i'd have to say, if it came down to a 240 or a 7....why in gods name would you pick a 240....they have truck engines, and handle like crap stock. also i agree with amakamamamlash above me, they are bootleg 7's, they just look so much better

and i totaly agree with you its not fair that people who ask questions get flamed and right now i have a honda accord and i love it and yea some people are like that and its not just us who have rx7 but i have ran into people with hondas accuras toyotas that were jerks and its just like just because you have a fast car you dont have to be a jerk but i have run into some great people even on here that are wonderful people but i totaly agree with you we dont have to be jerks because we have an rx7 or a rotary and others dont we should be an exapmle of goodness not jerks we make a name for ourselves not the car its great having it and yes i love my rx7 and i plan on keeping it forever but it dont define me my personality does and thats what make peole want to talk to me about my car because i am easy to talk to and im not a jerk i do however like to have fun but not when its hurting someones feelings or making them feel lower than me
