You just pull out the element making sure not to wreck the middle contact.then you just have to make contact between the middle contact and the outer edge.I used washers and wire. Then wire the starter switch to the back of the lighter housing.

So basically when you push the cig lighter, the car starts? That's awesome, ahaha.

Yup. Sometimes it seems to not quite work. It'll run the fuel pump but the starter doesn't kick but then you press it again it's sweet. Not sure why. But yeah most of the time it's just push n go.

When I read the thread title I assumed you were just making a push-button start and placing it where the cig lighter is located, aha.

Yeah didn't know how to word it so it was clear it's not a s2000 button install.

does the lighter spring back out or do you have to pull it back out?

i'd rather go with the S2k button, since the FC lighter just doesn't suit a switch feel to me. closest are some of the inset euro lighters like BMW.

It springs back. Plus I bent the tabs of the housing so it can't lock in like it does when functioning as a lighter

Ben, that is awesome man + 1 for creativity and + one more for sharing it. can't tell you how many times i've thought about hiding a starter button but couldn't decide where to do so at. thanks for recommending putting it "right out in the open" muahahahahaha.

and you thought that maybe just maybe people were going to call it rice tehe.
