Nobody hasnt answered my question yet ... what kind of HID bulb do you put in your foglights? only buy the bulb or an Hid kit with ballast for foglights?

in the fog lights, your gonna need H3C HID bulbs to use the the stock fog light assembly... For fog lamps though, i dont really think you need projectors for it, its meant to spread out NOT have a cut off, it would defeat the purpose... The purpose of fog lights is to cut down on the reflection of light during foggy or rainy conditions.

Oh yeah if you do some searching you can find stuff on ebay for cheap HID kits. Remember you H3C HID Bulbs/Kit.... Might be hard to find.

HIDs in the fogs are pretty much useless, they don't even put light out on the road and your gonna melt the plastic housings. Ebay HID in Foglights is not the way to do it, get some upgraded halogens in whatever color you want and call it a day for the fogs.

Why isn't anyone using the Hella 6054 e-code housings and putting the crappy HID kits in there? The e-code headlights have amazing cut off and almost no glare. You can put a $50 kit in those and they look decent. I have the hella ecodes on my FB, but they're 7" round not the 6054 crap. Right now i run PIAA 100w halogens and they are amazing. I'm planning on getting some HID's soon enough though.
http://store.classicgarage.com/he-72206b.html The key is to get the european ones becasue they have twice the cut off as the USDM xtravision H4 replacements. But the H4 xtravision H4 conversions with some silver stars is still a huge imporvement over stock crap. that's what i ran in my FC. People are getting glare and no cut off when they are buying piece of **** $20 ebau plastic lenses with no fluting.

well i cant vouch for the european headlights, but my i love my tsx projector retrofit... the visibility is at least 70 times greater than before, the light is more wide spread and controlled, for a $200 mod... its worth it.

Hi guys, i've actually been searching for a thread like this to kinda see what people did as alternatives for rx7 lighting. I just bought my FD recently with stock flip-ups and an HID kit for both high and lowbeam and i must say the lighting absolutely SUCKS!!!
no offense... but i guess i got used to my FX retrofit on my honda prelude. I had an FX bi-xenon setup with RS clear lenses... and i have to say I will definitely be attempting a retrofit on the rx7 headlights.
I need to get some measurements and all that but i have a set of g35 bixenon projectors, and since the actual headlight peace is cheap for the rx7's, I'll probably be attempting the retro relatively soon.

my question was... is this the cheapest set of headlights i can buy that have a somewhat clear lens? (not the exact link but... similar style... i see on ebay prices range from like 80-150 for these)
http://www.octanemotorsports.com/pro...ducts_id=10187

something like that?
because i know this is going to be trial-and error and I wanna go the cheapest route.
also if anyone has a spare set of lights in ANY condition including all broken and stuff PM me i'll give you some cash for them so i can try out the retro.

Thanks!

^they're not real projectors man... they are just housings with a lens to make it seem like they are... if you want a real HID set up, you have to retro fit real projectors in your housings, IE: tsx projectors or of that sort.

^no lol you dont get it... i'm looking for a set of headlights that will FIT my car but are relatively cheap because i'm going to be DOING the retrofit. i dont wanna ruin my stock oem headlights if the retro doesnt work out right....
im not asking if those are like the real deal lol i just need a housing that bolts in or fits in place of my stocks AKA without modding or adding my own brackets/stuff... so i can then cut it out and put my G35/FX projectors whichever I decide to use.

Aren't the FD lights totally different shape than the FC??? If they are the same 6054 headlight than you can use pretty much any good 7x6 housing to start your projector retrofit.

oh i gotcha, any housings will work, you just gotta make sure that they have a clear cover glass... if you go on ebay, you can find a lot of cheap headlights.

Cant wait for these babies to get on my hands

Ill post my pics as soon as I get them installed on my 7

How did these work out for you? Thinking of buying a set myself. Did you ever find fogs to match? These don't require ballasts, correct?
