Post your Retro-fit HID setup
yo what type of epoxy did you guys use to hold the projectors in the H4 Housings? and where did you guys get your epoxy???
having trouble finding a fast drying compound...
thanks in advance again

nice... i was going to apply the epoxy directly on the projector but decided to go another route, i decided to place a aluminum sheet where i cut the the housing apart and fuse the aluminum sheet to the housing... From there, cut a direct hole for the projector to be mounted on. You think the sheet of aluminum will go well using JB weld or Quick Steel
i finally got the headlight and projector on my car... but having some spacing issue... the headlamp looks awesome with the blacked out housing... the spacing is the only issue.
Which projectors did you end up using? Which way doesn't it fit? If it's too loong you might be able to use some longer screws to attach the front metal trim over the headlight to hold it in place, this only works for a few extra mm though. You could also refit the projectors in the housing to make more room, maybe cut it down some more one way or another. lets see some pics of this clearance problem.
i will post pics tomorrow morning... i got one side to fit actually. I did exactly what you explained, i places one inch screws to hold the headlight further forward. I just dont know how long this will last... it seems pretty sturdy, when driving with them one i just get worried about them falling off or something haha...
Can't see what you've done there but it looks like a lot of glare and sleepy eyes. That can't be too good for driving. I think the other people flashing you might mean that they are aimed properly or have no cutoff.
you dont have a retro fit its just a plug and play hid kit in looks like on ebay housing, go couple of pages before or go to my thread u ll see a retrofit
haha^ i dont know man... first day its sunny in a week though? weather is just weird? thanks for the compliment bro...
the only things that i will be losing is my high beams and shrouds around the headlight =/... i am sacrificing looks for function in this mod... its not like i'll have my pop ups up during the day anyway haha.

That's not right man, my shrouds fit back on no problem.. What is it hitting in there? I really think you should take the time to see whats wrong and adjust the fitment of the projector in the housing to give yourself some more clearance.
yeah man i know, well i mounted my projectors and seems to be permanent now... one of the mistakes i made for my retrofit... its either i cut into my radiator support or no shrouds for the headlight... i still love them though.
NJ you got anymore pics of fitment on your retrofit???

Always "measure twice and cut once." As soon as the projector/housing were mocked up and still adjustable you should have test fit, tweak as necessary, move to the next step, re-test fit, repeat.
Exactly. Why didn't you test fit them before you applied the epoxy?
When I made mine I was continuously checking fitment and tweaking to make it better. I used aluminum tape to hold things in position and was able to bend/shape, mark and recut to get a perfect fitment. Only once everything was level, flush and square did I apply the epoxy.
I'd see if you can't find another set of housing and try it again so they fit right. The whole point of the TSX retrofit is that they are compact and fit in the stock location. It seems like your are just too long, you should have fit the projector as close to the glass lens of the 7x6 housing as possible to make the entire thing as short as possible.
I'll post more pics of my fitment later tonight when I get home.

when i test fitted the projectors it worked fine... i measured the distance for it to fit... where the problem is when the pop ups open and close, it rubs against the radiator support... that is where my mistake was.. thats ok though... i will make this work.
I have seen a similar problem on the 240's that did this mod, they ended up cutting the radiator support. I was hoping to avoid cutting any part of the frame. Let us know how you end up making it work.
