I feel lucky to have stumbled upon this car , hearing its story and going through a pile of receipts and various paperwork. I really can not wait to get this project rolling by mid summer. Its going to be a clean car with that black paint and red upgraded interior , but 1st finding a donor cosmo engine is on my list. I havent owned an FC since 2002 , but she would be my 3rd , not including 3 other, FBs. Rotorhead for life. Josh

TX Project Turbo II S4 From Honolulu , HI

More pics added , last photo was the day I scooped her up in Denton, TX with my UD 2000 Turbo. To think this car could have been scrapped was not something I was going to allow. She will live to die anorther day and be well taken care of.

It is either part of the rare OEM optional USA kit like Chris down at RX7.com suggested to me or imported from Japan to Hawaii in the late 80s, original owner was a Japanese man. It was made for an S4 by design and would not fit an S5 without modification. Ill get more pics soon. Josh

TX RE Frankenrex vs 87 Turbo II from Hawaii

Thanks man , I was looking hard on craigslist before I saw exactly what I was looking for. I had been looking for 4 hard months and by luck one day there it was , an original 87 with a body kit so rare even the big shots are scratching thier heads at me , I am working with a guy named Ted @ http://fc3spro.com in Honolulu, HI to track down exactly what may have been available in the 80's and will be sending shots to Kaminari as they are looking for people to help them rebuild the molds of thier old discontinued body kits , this car is so rare that less then 20 FC Turbo II's are actually on the roads there in Hawaii at any given time he stated in an email to me. I am stoked about this car and its preserved history. Oh my I don't think having so many RX7s is a bad thing but when you have to upgrade your home's lot size , you gotta check into the clinic man , before its too late ! LOL , Josh

The kit looks like it could be an old Kaminari. It's definitely not OEM finishline. Nice find!

None of that kit is Kaminari. Here is my old car with the kaminari front, rear apron, and rear spoiler (all real Kaminari). The kaminari rear spoiler does not have a pedestal in the center of the spoiler above the 3rd brake light.

That kit on the rotaryunderground's car looks like an old Pacific Kit which I think was later sold by wings west. Here's a photo of the pacific kit.

As shown above in the photo of the rear of my old car, the kaminari rear spoiler does not have a pedestal in the center of the spoiler above the 3rd brake light.

Here is the pacific kit from the rear and from the front again.
