Hey Johnson, any plans for more aero for track duties? Big **** off wing? front splitter, flat floor all that good stuff?

Also, how are the brakes holding up?

Yeah, aero's coming after the power upgrade and supporting mods. It has enough power to make aero nice, but not enough to make it useful. Looking for 350-400 to the wheels next! Big wing, aluminum honeycomb front splitter, and diffuser. I may have time to make a flat bottom as well. Gotta make it so all of these can be taken off easily when it's driven on the street, haha. I may purchase another set of wheels to run dedicated rubber after it's all done.

Brakes are holding up great, none of the guys running the setup have had any fade issues so far. I'm just about done with my first set of HP+ on these, will use the same pads again

Consistent stops from 130 - 40 =

I'd recommend a birch splitter. 3/8" if you can find it, or 1/4" with thoughtful supports. cable hangers up front allows flex for example. 1/2" is overkill....
birch will be lighter and cheaper than alumalite if you design it right! and it'll flex instead of creasing.

my 1/2" birch splitter weighs 18# with all the mounting hardware. if scraped it all over the place and its holding up a little too well lol. i plan to build a new 1/4" unit that sticks out a lot further

Nice, got a classic stained look on yours haha

Strangely enough, I was reading up on how to make birch syrup. I'll take a look at this!

I was thinking about using HDPE to make mine... Prob be pricier than birch though, and won't match the furniture!!

Anyway, I guess that's a bit off topic. Back to the pics.

Your car looks too clean to be rocking a lip on a lip on a lip. Seriously? Thats like the classic Honda wing on a wing move, just with front lips. Ditch the last two lips, remove or mold the hood scoop and I think your car would be a winner.

^ indeed. dont be fooled by the all-one-color paint, the car is all function. some stuff just ends up looking nice as well. i just redid the lip around the splitter to seal better, and it happens to look better lol

dont hate on birch- tons of ppl use it on real race cars. carbon is obviously the best material for any body part, but expensive and difficult to build/replace. no plastic (AFAIK), aside from tegris maybe, can compete with plywood on strength+rigidity+weight. plywood is a natural composite afterall :-)

and since its the pic thread, the splitter's new lip (some rubber crap from Ace Hardware):

Some nice stuffy guys, i think those splitters deserve their own thread as well, splitter talk and function thread.

The plywood gets coated in fiberglass resin right?

i like were that is going^^^ how far back do you guys let the splitters run? do you stop it at the back of the front bumper or do you let it run way back till the start of the bell housing? i know scca has regulations on how big they can be.
