Painted top mount intercoolers

Anyone here paint their stock top mount? I just sanded and painted mine, then made a Rotary Turbo decal in gold. I think it looks sick, and was wondering who else has done similar

I'm painting my intake manifold too. The paint looks bad in this picture, but that's just because it's wet. It also looks much better in person. I'll update with more pictures when all the paint is dry

I think I did use enamel paint. For the text, I just made a vinyl decal

Its not going to last. when it gets hot, it gets soft and anything and everything gets into it. when it cools down it hardens again and locks all the stuff into it. it doesn't look good for very long as it becomes one with all the dirt and everything else that manifests in the engine bay

I love the look of the painted intercooler, but agreed that it might not last in the engine bay like that. Powdercoating is a good solution if you can find someone local that does that.

I might just be dumb and misremembering, so I'll check again what paint I used and get back to you. I didn't want to powder cost though, because honestly this car is a complete shitbox for now so I'd much rather spend very little on cosmetics (until the car can be repainted), but spend good money on actual performance/repairs. As annoying as I know it'd be, if the paint does start coming off, I'm willing to take it back apart and spend the time redoing all of it with better paint

This'll look so good when I finally get it on the car. I'll probably have to deep clean the rest of the engine bay so the intake and intercooler don't make it all look like trash in comparison lmao
