you make it seem like every one who has an fc is suppose to track their car.
Not Track, Autocross or rallycross.
Or you can get an LSD and learn to drift with a club.
All of these things are normally between $20 and $60 per event.
You don't need any background to start, and everyone there is nice and helpful. They have intsructors for newbies.

Seriously, Don't be intimidated. It will open you up to a whole new chapter with your car. I'm sure there are plenty of groups down in FL that run year-round.
Look some up and get started.

Get some Koni Yellow's, RB or RSR springs and some Mustang wheels with sticky street tires and start to AutoX.

Mustang wheels are cheap, wider than stock wheels and a lot of times you can pick them up with a decent set of tires.

I got my mustang wheels for $50 or $60 and put some R-comps I had on them. They're 15x7 w/ an offset of 25. They bolt right up and look pretty good.

Pele Got a set of 16X8 Mustang wheels with some 2/3's used R-comps on them for $150.

I'd start doing autocross before you abandon it.

are you getting tired of your car or tired of cars in general. Because if you are just done with cars I recommend doing something else pick up a hobby or play sports. Sometimes I want to work on something new that's why I'm done with my engine bay and working on painting my car.

Get with a group of guys that love auto-x or track driving. Driving the car every day back and forth from work is boring, but beating it around a track - awesome!

Anyway, for motivation... Watch some car related stuff [sounds silly, but watching Wangan Midnight got me off my butt to finish my Vert last summer]

im pretty much in the lost all motivation category except my car has no wheels or engine. i have a 13bre sitting in my garage and all the drivetrain to get it back together just dont really care to do it anymore plus i need to spend a lot more money to get it done.

so far im feeling a bit more motivated just reading this thread.

owning a rx7 is community. You sharpen one another. Have you been to any meets lately? hang with some folks who have 7's help em out on engine pulls, installations etc. Find the OG's! They are walking wealths of info about the cars. I've had me gtus project for over a year without stable employment but its steadly coming along to be painted. It has it cracked windshield, rust spots, body damage, by 1st gear synro, bad motor mounts etc LOL. Its quiet a project but I've seen other white , repaired rx7's and they remain my inspiration. To be clean, stock looking and fun.

**** top gear, watch Wangan Midnight and Initial D (do not try and imitate). You might discover some newly found motivation from the Japanese car culture theme.

I felt this way recently, thinking I lost interest (it seemed unbelievable considering how obsessed I used to be) but when I went to my garage and pulled out the Rex to work on the DD I thought 'wtf was I thinking'!? The home-built RX-7 driving experience is irreplaceable. Even though I'm preoccupied with other major finances (school, dental, loans) it doesn't seem like anything can ever replace the car/motor sports hobby, ever.

Using an rx-7 as a grocery getter and complaining that you're bored and have lost motivation is like going to a theme park, not riding the roller coasters and saying there is nothing exciting to do.

Go to some events! Even as a spectator, find some purple that use their cars for their intended purpose. You say you're in st pete, I'm pretty sure they run auto x at thee community college there. My buddy Landon303 is in the area and would be willing to help as well.

As matter of fact, there is a meet@ Quaker Steak this weekend! Get off your *** and go find motivation. No one is gonna come to your house, abduct you, and force you to enjoy your car.

LOL @ Shar!

That being said...I've heard the Tampa RX7 scene can be kind of weak...like Jax. Either everyone had non-running cars or they are teenagers want to spray their rotary.

For the "scene" to even be a significant consideration, one must at least desire to leave their home and commune w/ car enthusiasts....

That being said, it was descent last time I lived there (over 2 years ago) , not exactly sure of the status currently, GG is right about the lathe number of non-running cars, but that's not everyone. Honestly landon is a "scene"unto himself, he's on a first name basis w/ most of the running rotaries in the area and is a good guy to know.
