NY FINALLY a quiet exhaust!

i just came from the exhaust shop and had my new muffler installed. i bought an apexi world sport II universal muffler with the 80mm inlet. my old apexi N1 catback was just too loud and i didn't really like how it sounded.
the WS II muffler is friggin BIG, i had to move it far back and have the tips a few inches out so it would clear. my old boss used the piping from my catback and just made a mandrel bent S section and welded it together. nothing fancy, but it's quiet. my exhaust starts from hks manifold to 35R, 3" downpipe, 4" round magnaflow mid muffler, old N1 catback piping to new WS II muffler.
i will put up a video i the near future so everyone can hear how it sounds. On the way home i could barely hear it, you mostly hear the engine and the turbo. i also picked this muffler because i didn't want anything ricey looking or sounding. it also has a ton more ground clearance since it is not mounted on a slant anymore.

Can't wait to hear it. I've heard nothing but good things about WS IIs on other cars.

i'll try and get a quick video for you guys tomorrow. i didn't want duals and i am getting tired of straight can type mufflers, i was tempted to buy a similar style ebay muffler but i don't want to put it on only to find out it sounds like ****. i think this muffler sounds pretty good, if you are looking for something more low key.

take it back and tell em to cut about 2.5" out of the exhaust pipe and put it back together so your tip doesnt trip somebody, lol. Its like one of them damn trailer hitches you always bang your shin on in parking lots when you're not looking. Tip looks good, just protrudes too far.

i wish i could have it set further in but the muffler body is so damn long. if i set it in more it would hit the rear wheel! there is a few inches between the wheel and the muffler, but also i was welding it to the old cat back piping so that is where it ended up. the only way for me to have it further in and clear everything is for me to have the whole pipe redone. i am not about to do that since i just payed to have a custom down pipe and mid muffler made. i am going to try and get a video tomorrow, and try my camera mount on the outside of the car. i like the tip and the muffler style since it fills the exhaust cut out nicely.

looks good, i like the look of "sport" style exhaust compared to the N1 big canister styles.. Clean looks, not soo loud, and cop friendly

if you have an NA FC, you can use the 60mm inlet WS II muffler, it's a lot smaller. i used the 80mm because i didn't want to neck it down too much. i will get sound and video soon, today was nasty out.

I'm eagerly awaiting the sound clip, although noise isn't a bother to me, if the tone is really good I may do this to my catback. I have the corksport catback and could just cut the muffler and have it welded on in place of that since the CS piping at the end is 80mm anyways.

Loud rotary exausts gets real tiring after a while, maybe not if you can blast along at 60mph and not sit in traffic, but driving a loud rotary for an hour or two gets really old really fast.

what brand is WSII?

muffler looks like the magnaflow I have on my V8 car, but we put a custom tip on mine

the only thing i have to ask is what offset did you get...to the left or right or did you get the regular centered one? and another question i have is: your just running a regular straight pipe or a silencer like piping for your mid piping??

cant wait for your vid of the exhaust...if you have a vid of your n1 you should post both to compare how loud it is.

WSII - Apexi World Sport II.. if i recall, World Sport is like their mild sports /mid range products, compared to their N1 products which would be the high end stuff.

Eagerly anticipating a clip! I've been torn between keeping the noise in check and hating the extreme weight of a dual catback. Stock TII catback is 70lb! I got it down to 60lb with RB mufflers, but that's nothing compared to the 18lb of my buddy's JIC single. (Which sounded awesome...through ear plugs)
Any idea how much this catback weighs?

Any chance of getting a pic of how it fits under the bumper? Or better yet can you measure the canister length? cheers

Let's hear this baby.
If you want loud, straight 3" downpipe all the way out to some can like N1.
I have it all straight out 3" from turbo, but I tone it down with RB pre-silcecer. MidTone deep. I'm gonna do a little clip too.

the 80mm muffler only comes in center offset, the 60mm you have a choice. my exhaust starts from 3" downpipe, to 4" round magnaflow(resonator), old N1 piping with presilencer to WS II muffler.
i didn't have a back to back comparison of the old exhaust on tape, i saw a few N1 videos on you tube so i didn't bother.

i don't know how much this weighs but the muffler itself is a good amount heavier than the N1, but it IS bigger and suppresses noise better. i will take a few more pics from underneath to show how it fills the bumper, and measurements too.

ok so here are some quick videos from today. i didn't get a chance to edit it, and put it to one upload.

first video is from a cold start, about 47 degrees outside. it sounds a little loud because the car is inside my garage and it resonates off the walls. that loud whine is the fuel pump.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nPx0-bGXJg

second video is a boring shot from behind just idling at 800-900 rpm.

third video is inside the cabin with windows closed.

i also want to get some video cruising and doing some full throttle passed. maybe some tunnel shots would be cool too.
