WI Build your dream FC! (If you won the lottery.)

For the sake of conversation lets just say you won the lottery. Money is of no consequence to you, and you can build your FC from the ground up from a bare frame. What components would you choose? Why? Go nuts! Lets talk about each system seperately.

-Engine

-Lube

-Cooling

-Fuel

-Electrical

-Clutch/trans/Drive train/prop/

-Suspension/Steering/Brakes

-Body/wheels/interior/Trix.

-Extras?

I'd love to see the ideas that you guys (and gals) have for going all out and doing it right when not limited by a budget.

Id have Scoot build a copy of the engine in their 4 rotor FD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBZL-GGbA4s
so id assume whatever ecu/management they run with that setup.

Aero package would consist of Foresight bodykit

30mm vented Msport front fenders, pulled rear
RE-Amemiya rear spoiler

Volk VSXX 18x9 18x10 wheels

Catalog of SuperNow suspension parts

cusco chassis braces etc

Acura NSX headlights w/ HID

Recaro SRD drivers seat

Safety 21 roll cage
hand crafted titanium exhaust wrapped all teh way to a hks canister out the back
hks gauges and instruments
kaaz 1.5 way lsd

Carbon fiber flat paneling underneath the car
paint a deep gunmetal metallic gray

when all said and done, park next to a stock FD and slap myself for wasting my money on a fc when stock FD is gorgeous lol

I'd start out with my current base model, I like the fact it has no sunroof and manual everything, plus I went to Texas for this rust-free example, no way I'm giving it up

-Engine
I'd buy a bungh of 13B-REs and experiment with all types of porting and build techniques (DIY). Once I came up with the optimal setup, I'd install it into the car with a GT40R and a fancy Motec ECU, running on E85 of course. I'd probably splurge for some brand new OEM housings, possibly irons too. Then a 20B when I get bored.

-Lube
Probably mostly stock, I don't think I'd really need a dry-sump setup or anything.

-Cooling
Pretty standard; Koyo radiator, maybe an upgraded oil cooler.

-Fuel
Probably 6 injectors (1600cc?) to support the E85, probably dual fuel pumps too. All lines would be black SS lines with black fittings (I hate the standard blue/red and silver SS lines)

-Electrical
FD alternator, relocate battery to one of the bins

-Clutch/trans/Drive train/prop/
A fancy twin-disc setup. Rebuilt/strengthened stock trans.

-Suspension/Steering/Brakes
5-lug conversion, Fancy-*** coilovers, Evo brakes

-Body/wheels/interior/Trix.
Stock S4 body [puts on flame suit], 626 lip modified to extend to the front wheel arch (stock ends are a little too short), a brand new shiny coat of Pure Red, 17" Work Meister S2s in the Bright Buffed Finish, A nice head unit and a single 12" subwoofer hidden away somewhere, Bride seats (not sure which model exactly), Nardi Classic steering wheel

-Extras?
A hatch full of money and sexy women who will TIIDB.

Of course, the above applies to my 'mean street car' FC. I'd also have a purpose built track car, with crazier suspension stuff and some aero (I'm pretty big on the FC2000 front end .)

That is a truly beautiful machine.

I like the FD, for sure...however the FC is a whole different beast. I think a cherry FC really has a lot more character than an FD. I know that sounds insane, but i mean it.

i like your idea of a thread starter alot! so im gonna contribute but i wont do a crazy technical list ill just keep it simple

fc one: crazy base model 13b n/a build with either dual mikuni or fuel injected ITB's, full suspension from super now, chassis refresh and strengthening. stock s4 body in crystal or nobel white, with lip TII sides and re amemiya rear diffuser and GT wing.(total track car)

fc two: base with TII drop in with support mods to push 300-350hp along with the same suspension and chassis mods as previous. but in arctic silver and turbo/s5 wing.(daily driver with intentions to kill)

fc three: yet another base build but with the 13bMSP from the rx-8 this time. straight drop in no mods just the essentials to make it run optimum performance from factory with exhaust, light weight flywheel and a good clutch too. same suspension and chassis mods as previous ones. this one will be my sapphire blue touge car!

and of course to finish it off my choice of rims will be: advan model five, R32 GT-R wheels or advan RGIIs

as you can see i like the light weight factors of base models

I say start off with a hardtop base model.

-suspension-
5 lug swap, mazdaspeed wheels, 3 way ajustable coilovers with remote resevoirs, ajustable front swaybar, heim joints to replace all suspension bushings, individual camber adjusters in the back, modded lower control arm (for more steering angle) etc.

-brakes-
6 piston front brakes, 4 piston rear brakes, and brembo non drilled and non slotted blanks all around for rotors, braided brake lines, upgraded brake master cylinder and hydraulic hand-brake.

-motor-
build a all aluminum perephial port 4 rotor based off of the 13b housings, dry sump, individual throttle bodies, lightened s5 high compression rotors, fully balanced, carbon apex seals, megasquirt, aluminum gilmer drive pulleys, aluminum flywheel, electric water pump, electric powersteering pump, upgraded alt, dual core aluminum radiator, dual oil coolers, individual coil packs, and heck mine as well add a third spark plug wile we are at it.

-drivtrain-
T2 tranny with beefed up internals, dual plate clutch, aluminum drive shaft, either mazda speed for wheels or a set of steel racing wheels 16x8.5" all around, 1.5 limited slip.

-chassis-
strip the chassis down to the bone (no carpet, no dash board and grind off all unesisary brackets), cromoly roll cage with nascar styled door bars, triangulated front strut bar and other frame stiffening braces.

-exterior-
carbon fiber hood, sideskirts, stretched front and rear fenders, formula one styled carbon fiber mirrors, s5 bumper with carbon fiber/kevlar lip, carbon/kevlar wing, aluminum flat bottom undercarriage, carbon fiber doors, lexan rear window, the whole car painted black (yes over the carbon fiber), nsx headlight conversion and s5 modernized tailights with spyder LED bulbs.

-interior-
momo seats (black), momo 6 pt harnes (black), momo shifter (black), momo steering wheel (black), some kind of digidash and the roll cage paited red. Ohh yeah and me driving it!

I've always wanted to have a set of stock wheels widened like 3 or 4 inches, install some longer studs and space them way out so they fit flush and hide some serious rubber. Sleeper ... unless you're looking at it from the rear .

A 10.5 inch (255mm) is wide enough for me. My mustang hooked on a 26x10.5 tire. And thats a lot of torque and hp being blown to those tires.
Then I also dont need to worry about fitment.

- Engine : J spec 13B-T fully rebuilt to 100% Factory condition except with Cermet coated housings for the purpose of reducing friction and increasing reliability. No power mods except for a nice flowing Exhaust and a good Cone filter. why? because driving a slow car fast is much more rewarding than just simply having a fast car.

- Lube : Castrol GTX 10w 30 of course.

- Cooling: A simple Koyo radiator and whatever electric fans will fit? lol Dont know much about them. Factory oil cooler should be adequate..However I would invest in a NEW one that is clean and gunk free.

-Fuel : Stock fuel, But with 100% new OEM parts or replacements.

-Electrical : Is there something wrong with the electrical system? Even if there wasn't ..once again..replace all componants and restore to 100% factory condition.

-Clutch trans drive train etc : Clutch and transmission ..why OEM of course, and rebuilt stock tranny *shrug*. The only drive train Mod would be a Clutch type diff.

- Suspension : Bilstein or Ohlen coilovers if they even make them. Since I am rich I would have them custom made if necessary. Replace every arm on the car with a Pillow Ball equivilant. Get rid of the Damn Toe Steering Shit

- Brakes : Im not sure what brake mods are preffered to the FC. Since I am rich, I would take into account the cars new weight shifting tendencies with the suspension changes and CG changes I would make..and setup a Brake bias which uses 100% of available grip on all 4 tires and is capable of handling as much heat as is feasible depending on how it will be driven.

-Steering : Not a thing. Well..If there are beefier and more reliable componants I would choose them. But the steering angle will stay stock, FC's have less steering angle than common counterparts such as the S13 ...I would consider it a welcome challenge.

-Body : S5 T2, Perfectly stock, Whatever color yellow was used on the FD.

- Wheels : Enkei RPF1 16x8 or 17x9..depending on if my driving style with stock power can keep that much tire hot enough to function properly, No stretch..no unneccesary over hang..just perfect balance.

- Interior : 100% original in perfect condition, Black and or grey prefferably.

I'd give RE-Amemiya whatever it would take to have them build me the sickest track car ever. Then I would drive it on tracks all over the world.
