Clive from the Mazda Rotary Club.com from England sent this shot from the Double Tree hotel. The hotel is a couple hundred yards from Sevenstock grounds and great for meeting many out of towners and RXs that cruise in. Like I said my camera fritzed out this year and only got video.

For the ones who might be interested...this is a page from the Racing Beat catalog offering the nose kit in '88.
Just about everything for the second gen that is in their parts catalog was prototyped and developed on this coupe...and still on this car. Except the motor...it's had a few. It's been fun to talk to the many guys who've worked on this car, taken it apart and put it back together...many times.
It now has 74,000 miles and as you've seen it's a driver, unrestored...it will be awhile before it gets too pretty to drive.
The suspension while "firm" is a really good handler, and set up for Laguna Seca.
This works well as I live up at Lake Arrowhead (above San Bernardino) and my driveway is almost 20 miles up to 5,000' level.

Back to the Roadster...in good company at the "Courtyard" at SevenStock in Irvine, Mazda R&D.
The LeMans winning 787 B, Abel Ibarra's RX8 and R100, Oku's FD, Bonneville LSRs...that was a great year.
Check out the Sevenstock.org archives.
Thanks to the SoCal RX7 boys and Mazda...don't ever miss it!...and tell your friends.

Another worthy nominee for Best FC. You don't need lots of add ons...to be clean.
This record setting RB car was restricted to only production aero tweaks...bone stock.
In '86 it averaged 238 mph, over 244 on it's return run.
This record STILL stands. The RB FD that flipped famously (at 220) has less drag...but the FC
has downforce, none for the FD. The accident led to allowing stock bodied cars to
have some aero bits.
