sorry guys i meant header
I just found out that the 626 makes 158 hp and 143tq on a dyno pack which lowers the ratings more or so he says
I did not know that the klze motor was that big of a deal
I am pretty sure the gtu comes with a 4.30 diff or atleast mine did know i just hate geting on the high way 4.30 diff =4k in 5th just to do 60

The 2.5 L (2497 cc) KL family uses an 84.5 mm bore and 74.2 mm stroke. It includes the Japan-only KL-ZE, which produced 199 hp (149 kW) and 165 ft·lbf (224 Nm). Another variant, the KL-DE (also known as the KL-03 outside the USA, and fitted to 2.5 litre Ford Probes) was the worldwide version, with 164-170 hp in various applications.
Mazda introduced a key technology with these engines, known as the Variable Resonance Induction System (VRIS). A series of two butterfly valves coupled with electronically controlled actuators varied the volume and length of a resonant chamber attached to the intake manifold, producing 4 resonant frequencies. The valves actuate at particular engine frequencies (i.e. RPMs) to produce optimal torque/horsepower output at any given engine speed.
Applications:
KL-DE
1993-1997 Mazda MX-6 GT (E and J spec)
1993-1997 Mazda MX-6 LS (A spec)
1993-1997 Ford Probe GT
1992-1995 Ford Telstar TX5 Ghia, TX5 Ghia 4ws
1993-2002 Mazda 626 ES, LX (after 1994)
1995-2002 Mazda Millenia L
KL-ZE
1997 Mazda Capella Wagon
1993+ Mazda MX-6 Jspec
1993+ Mazda MS-8 (Japan)
1993+ Mazda Eunos 600/800 (Japan)
Sorry, the 626 is probably lighter, and rotary doesn't have enough torque. Now, if it was a power-per-liter race, then you'd win, but those races only win in trash talk to Hondafags.
On that note, why pay to import a jspec engine when the contour svt has a 2.5liter duratec (not sure if it's going to fit though) that makes 1 more hp and 4 more lb-ft of torque, and is probably a hell of a lot easier to find....

IIRC, the trans is different (if not more things with the block). The Contour is based on the Mondeo, which has a very different front end than the 626. Also, I think they are actually more rare than the KLZE, which I believe was the main motor in Japan in the 626. I didn't pay much attention to the late model guys when I was heavy into my 89 MX6.
