Question S4 T2 Reasons for fuel pump to keep running?

Hey guys!

I got a T2 that was told they couldnt get it started for over a year. I let it sit for a couple months because ive been busy with other stuff , so now that i have time i decided to take a look at it. So after looking around and hearing for noises , i heard like a buzzing kinda noise under the UIM , then went to check and the fuel pump sounded like it kept running.
After that i put i fuel pressure gauge to see if it would actually keep pushing with the key "on" switch (car off) or if it would just prime . Sure enough, the pump keeps pushing 43psi all the time and thats why they couldnt get it to start lol.

Ive looked around and all i can find is threads about this "kill switch" which i wouldnt mind doing , but i would much rather get some pointers at what could be causing this?

Once i got the car to start by killing the pump and as soon as it clear the gas plugging it again, it runs and all , but as soon as you take your foot off, it dies on the spot... It doesnt even hunt or anything. But im guessing i probably have some vacuum leaks since its missing some clamps and also has a chipped coupler for what i got to see.

Or would that also be fuel related? maybe stuck injectors? and thats why pump keeps running?

Any pointers and feedbacks will be appreciated!!!

Thanks!
