Fc automatic stays in gear need help.

Fc automatic stays in gear need help.
I just recently bought a Automatic fc s5 and it drives but it doesn't go 3rd gear. It shifts to the second gear but not the next after that. It would just stay in that gear throughout the whole drive. The shifter does seem to not be in the right place also because when I put it in park it seems to not go all the way up but will be in park gear. The shifter does shift into all the gears as in PRNDL but doesn't engage when I put it to L. All the gears seems to be the same. Some advice would greatly be appropriated
