randomly won’t crank via key
hey guys, drove my 87 turbo 2 to work today, went for lunch, everything was good, then once i got off i tried to start the car, nothing, no click nothing. grabbed a power probe and started it via the starter solenoid, essentially just jumped it. got it home and started prodding around, starter solenoid wires are intact. anybody got related wiring diagrams or something to point me in the right direction? pretty new to wiring diag😅

Sorry to know of your troubles. I would start with a good charged battery, the fuses, the keyed ignition, the aftermarket security system. If the old system is not is use I would just cut it out. It should be obvious which wires are for the unit. You might need to do some splicing though. Skip over it for now and do the other three first.
Grounding wires are very impotant too.

Perhaps someone else has better ideas.
Edit: Check the inhibitor switch by the clutch pedal first.

That sounds super frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old car where it wouldn’t crank, and it turned out to be a corroded ground wire. It could also be the ignition switch or a relay acting up. If you haven't already, check the fuses and connectors, too—those older models can have some weird electrical gremlins. I found helpful wiring diagrams on some dedicated forums, so maybe give those a shot.
