Today my RX7 started cranking when the key is both in the 'lock' position and the regular all the way forward position. But doesnt when its on Accessory or anywhere between start and lock. Any ideas? starter switch?

Starter will only crank when it gets a signal to do so. I'd look at your keyswitch and wiring BEFORE the starter.

 

Definitely, I didn't believe it was my starters problem at all. I don't know much about these cars having only owned it a week. I'll dig into the wiring diagram tomorrow. I was playing with the fuse box as some of its accessories didn't work. It was fine earlier that day. Could be a coincidence but probably not.

 

what year/make is your 7?
