EGI Comp Fuse

Hey guys! My car was driving and then the motor just shut off. I noticed i keep blowing my EGI comp fuse. Any idea what it could be?

Short circuit somewhere. Start checking for pinched or burnt wires. Have fun!

The EGI fuse is essentially the entire fuel injection system so unfortunately that means a lot of possible causes. Start with the easy stuff first though. Any wires pinched or rubbing around the intake manifold area? That harness leads out the passenger side (assuming left hand drive) and over the exhaust area. Melted? It travels over the engine and meets up with the engine harness on the other side. It also powers the coils.

One thing you can do is unplug the ECU and then see if the fuse still blows. That would at least isolate it to a problem with the ECU.

Update for everyone who’s interested. The 10-12 gauge wire running from the firewall had snapped completely and I stripped, attached a new terminal and reattached. No problems yet, skeptical it was that easy though.
