Antenna Removal
I have a 91 hatch and Im wondering if anyone knows the steps necessary to remove the antenna. I took out the 2 bolts on the bottom and it seems like its supposed to just slide down and out but it won't and i don't want to break it more than it already is so please let me know if I'm missing any steps.

You have to use a pair of needle nose pliers to twist off the "cap" on the outside of the car. The part that you see from outside. It has two little holes. And you *carefully* loosen it.
After that nut is off it just slides down if you have removed the other bolts inside.

I've been digging to find an existing thread about this issue.
This morning i wasnt fully awake and i backed the car while the garage door was already shutting down.
long story short, i slightly bent the antenna.
I think it's "only" the tube that goes through the panel that has a kink.
basically the antenna retract down to the last section that can't go through the kink.
If i take the assembly of the car and fix it on a bench, i guess it will be fixable.
my issue is that my car is a turbo 2, with the spoiler. Does it needs to be removed before accessing to this sort of ring you'are talking about ? or with some dexterity it can be removed without having to take off the spoiler ?

the out of the box thing would be to hold the nut at the top and try to turn the antenna, just to break it loose

I tried it during my lunch break but I'm really unlucky... My antenna nut seems to be one of a kind... Basically it look like a dome with some little faces on it's bases... A bit like a blind nut but with the spanners faces that are really small... I'll try to get it tomorrow with a set of flat pliers but I'm not sure I'll have enough space... If that doesn't work I'll try to unfasten the motor part, block it in the spoiler and spin the motor assembly... Last resort, I'll take off the spoiler. I'm not sure how to remove the screw caps on the extremities though...

ok i tried to fix it... and it didn't went well...
I managed to get the antenna off.
it's badly bent. So i gave up straightening it up.
I wanted to put it back and... thats impossible...
i put the nilon cable with the teeth directed toward the front of the car, i push it as far as possible, run the antenna motor to get the antenna down, but i can have the gear to pull the cable. i tried plenty of time with no luck... is there a secret to do it ?
