In the intro thread asked me to post historical market values for 2nd gen. Since I am already at three posts in the intro thread, I am posting it here:

Prices seem to be on the rise. I think people were tired of selling their cars so cheap that the majority of the people started asking outrageous prices for their car and its driving the market up. Seems like people are jumping on that bandwagon and the prices are on the rise.

25k for an FC seems outrageous, but if someone will pay it, more power to them. Would seem more likely to get that kind of money for an FD, to the right buyer...idk

Well I picked up a 91 vert for $500 recently so the flame lives on for me People think I'm crazy when I tell them I've owned 17 Mazdas and currently own 5 Mazdas.

i would do a vert for $500! i think out of all of them the vert is the nicest, in fact if it had a little more street cred (and maybe power), its better than a Boxster

there is this vert in one of the JDM magazines, black, final edition, big turbo 600ps...

So basically if it came as sold everywhere else in the world but the western hemisphere ? S5 vert with T2 appearance package, T2 engine, T2 16x7s, and limited slip would make a nice factory equipped car.

some nice low mileage unmolested FDs have been breaching the 40-50-even 60k mark

the FC will never command the same prices as the FD

Every time I see a "prices" thread though it makes me a bit sad. Even though prices seem to be going up I see more and more evidence of the heard being "thinned" out. What I mean is that it is getting harder and harder to find things and fewer activity on forums and sale sites ... What once was abundant is now a challenge. For instance I need a good driver seat for my 91 vert that I cant seem to find. I also would like a used Racing Beat NA exhaust which used to be easy to find on ebay... The bottom line for me is that I have a bit of an emotional connection to these cars and do not ever plan on selling them.

I'm the same way. I bought two 10AE's in the last 12 months because I wanted one to restore and the other was priced so low that I couldn't pass it up. Also picked up another 04 RX-8 in Titanium Grey. A nice 04 6spd non runner to bring back to life. I mean why not lol!!

I really liked my old RX8. I just got tired of constantly battling the CEL. Seemed like it constantly had new codes popping up.
