Looking to buy a 2nd gen. Prices?

I am looking at buying a second gen RX-7 and wanted to know what the prices are like in today's market. How much would a '88 - '89 model run?

Is there a classified section on here?

It depends on what you want really. Turbo IIs and convertibles usually run alot higher than the base models. And yes there is a classified section https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-rx-7-1986-1992-vehicles-108/

$2000 for N/A, $4000 for Turbo is what i usually say. Look a bit harder, and you'll find some better deals.

88 and 89 are two different series cars.

The 88 is a series 4 and the 89 is a series 5. The S5 will cost more.

Indeed, S4 is 86-88 and S5 is 89-92. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a pulsation dampener on the S5 helps it make 160hp rather than 145 in the S4 in NA form? And something to do with the 5th and 6th ports...?

TII's are different as well, S4 producing 180hp and the S5 pulling 200hp.

you're wrong. the pulsation dampener makes no power difference. the high compression rotors and different intake are the main contributors to the S5's extra power.

'03se, Where in California are you located?

If you're anywhere near the bay, there are a lot of turbo models that are going for $1,000. Most just need a rebuild. There are good deals out there.

I'd say Snowball got the prices pretty much right though.

You just have to be patient. The moment you jump into something, is the moment when everything goes downhill! Haha. But its all downhill when you want to buy a 7!! Haha.

Well, I got my 87 2+2 n/a for $1700 off my uncle-
It's got a rebuilt motor and tranny,
some *alright* rims,
a primered hood,
small-ish amount of little dents and dings,
and the rear qtr. panel was barely hit a long time ago.
yeah... thats tha basics

so I think I got a deal!
heres some pix

Thank you for the information. Is this also the same on the TII?
