S4 13b in S5 vert chassis
I’ve had my first FC for about a year now....little motivation to work on it without any help and knowing close to nothing about these cars. the last owner mentioned this particular engine had roughly 8k miles on a rebuild when I got the car. I’ve recently started wrenching on it some, learning a little more about it...
my fc has always had issues that I’ve been unable to track down. It’s very low on power...I tracked it once and it had sat since then. I did the usual at first; full tune up, oil change, etc. that fixed almost all of apparent issues. It runs amazing......but it’s still low on power.... I recently realized (the last owner “failed” to mention).....the engine in this car is an S4 engine and i was told by some that since it’s a vert, I need the S5 ECU to keep the car running which is what is currently in the car. but without the S4 ECU the engine will never run right. I’ve been told I need standalone.
ive also been told that since my car came with an OMP delete; it could be in limp mode? Apparently the S5 ecu will sense the lack of omp...? I’d love to hear more thoughts on this.
