Cool Wish us luck!

The days of reckoning are upon us. I finally got my custom made radiator in the mail this week. My brackets for the IC and oil cooler are made. My custom headlight kit is in.... the car is going together this weekend.

Running the stock turbos for now, but I don't have IC pipping. I will be starting off with just getting it to run with an air filter on the throttle body for some engine break in. Next week, should be able to get the car in for an exhaust and mandrel bent IC piping.

Still a lot of work to do:
  • Install the brake lines in the engine bay since I removed the ABS and added a line lock
  • Mount the IC
  • Mount the oil cooler
  • mount the radiator
  • make the oil cooler lines
  • mount the Meziere water pump
  • make AN lines for the water pump
  • make radiator lines for the radiator
  • wire the Haltech
  • intercooler pipes
  • exhaust
  • install BOV
  • tune
  • prolly some more....

I have all of the parts to do everything above except the IC pipes and exhaust....

Hopefully get halfway through that list this weekend, and hopefully get it running and SLIGHTLY tuned for idle and what not...

Yeah, I had my exhaust flange made about a month or so ago... I just dropped the gasket off at a machine shop and told em to match it up.... boy was I surprised with the $110 bill!!!! Never going there again.

Yep. Stock downpipe on the stock turbos... until my single turbo manifold is done

wow 110 for that flange is nuts! I made my own but
could have had a muffler shop guy cut one out with a
torch (not as nice as what I made) when he did the
exhaust for very little extra.
btw.. how are you routing the IC piping and where are
you putting the oil cooler?
I am having a real problem finding enough room for
everything,, I just got a BIG rad and I am not sure
how I am going to make it fit

my muffler shop didnt have anything like that flange. i was kinda pissed. put my oil cooler one notch down, the ic is right in front of that, the radiator is in the stock spot but more vertical. one of my ic pipes runs through the inner fender kinda where the winsheild washer used to be, the other one goes between the radiator and the front shroud, but my intercooler is wierd

I just went the local farm supply store and got a chunk
of 3/8ths steel flat bar marked out the shape with the
gasket and them cut it out with a hole saw and around
the out side with the cut off saw,,, cost me nothing!
they didn't charge me for the little bar because if was
scrape.
I put the IC out front bottom of the bumper, the oil
cooler over the pipe/frame brace, the trani cooler
between the oil cooler and the IC , and the rad behind
that, with the IC pipes running through the rad support
on either side of the rad,, which is not a easy spot to
put them in!!
I need 6 inches for my black magic flex lite fan,
so I think I am going to cut the aluminum
bracket that holds the power steering pump and
move it back a pulley width,,, hope that's enough.
Seems to be taking for ever to get this little things done
I want to drive it with out it over heating!

i know the cars done except for a few loose ends. i have 3" between my water pump pully and the radiator, i'm going to try one 10" thin fan and one 11" thick one, hopefully it'll be enough

I was thinking of bolting one of those flexlite fans on
the water pump they take very little space and they say
they pull lots of air.

I built brackets and mounted the oil cooler behind my intercooler, its actually attached to it.. has weatherstriping between the two. I ordered a custom 17" tall x 26" wide 2 core aluminum radiator and a VERY thin Spal fan. I have to make some brackets for everything now, didn't get much of anything done this weekend... I need to get ALL of the beer out of this house, and AC for the garage, and then I"ll be able to stick with deadlines... nah, **** that... deadlines don't work for me... but it'll be running soon, thats all that matters. I'm disappointed in this weekend, but its my fault... my fault and the fact that I don't like to work in 105 degree heat index temperature with 75%+ humidity. July sucks. If I ever get off the couch today, well, I guess its tonight right now, I'll get some pics of where everything is going... and the trick oil cooler mounting, I really dig it

Beer .... hot weather...... damn

Brad and I are in so much trouble for doing anything to our cars this summer. Of course he also has a wife to contend with as well and a new house

Guess its better than doign a T2 tranny and rear sub frame swap in the cold rain
