I would buy a Microtech MTX-12. It's a great choice regardless of price, and to top it off it's cheaper than most others!
Other good ones are Wolf 4's, Autronic, and Motec (ultimate, and ultimate $$$ too)

NO WAY!! you are getting 18mpg on the highway??? thats definatly daily driver range! i think you will have a hard time legaly passing smog... even if you pass sniff, and dyno, you wont pass visual. youll have to find a "hook up" cheapest ive seen is $200... heath

i think i could maybe get a little more. theres room to run it a tad leaner (seths is like 15.6afr and mine is like high 14's), i think a lower trailing split would also help (i'm at 10 degrees, zero might be better) also i have short tires so i'm seeing higher rpms than i could/should.

and then i can do the honda vx civic stuff like block off the radiator, lighten the car more, get rid of stuff like the antenna, etc etc

i was happy with 18 though, thats only 1 gas stop on the way to sevenstock, instead of 3@11mpg

The E6K/E6X is sufficient.
I still think the E11 is still buggy, as we haven't heard confirmation the aux outputs work correctly (we can't turn them off yet).

The E11 gives you more outputs (that haven't worked for us yet) and a little more fancy control (independent true split trailing map, 3D boost control, full sequential on rotary, etc.), but it's not necessary for minimal rotary engine control.

You guys got a wide-band, right?
Try and check the AFR's.
Sometimes extra backpressure causes the AFR's to run rich, and that will give you a weird smell...

oohhh i didnt know it could control sequential!!!!! hehe i know its stupid but i really want to have BNR do the twins and use them in sequential.... maybe its possible now, and having split @ low RPM's will be nice too! only problem is finding someone that can tune all of this properly without blowing up my poor motor!!!
