Taking apart a 20b

I'm taking apart my 20B and I've broken it down to almost all the way but I'm having trouble seperating the intermediate housing away from the 2nd rotor housing going back to front. Is there any trick to removing this?

Thanks for the info.

^ thats bullshit, yeah there is a special pullter that screws into the eshaft but ya dont need it, preload the from half fo the shaft(sort of a 2 person job) and put the front bolt back in the eshaft and give it a bit of a tap with a soft face hammer, it should pop apart after a few taps

I am just trying to help.Hsmidy ,you don't have to jump up and say stuff like that.
I have done it many many times, and it is pretty hard without the proper tools.I am
trying to help him from damaging the engine. You know if you tap the e-shaft the wrong way,you can damage the center bearing.Just letting you people know.

yeah i can see where your coming from, but people make the 20b out to be something only expert seasoned rotary engine rebuilders should touch, at the end of the day its an engine, and on the off chance you do manage to damaged your centre bearing then if you cant afford to replace that you shouldnt really be playing with a 20b in the first place, its fairly common knowledge that they are an expensive peace of kit.

taking apart

I tried again to take apart the 20b with your suggestions, unfortunately I don't have a bolt big enough to thread into the eshaft to pull on it. Where does someone find such a bolt? My freind and I tried tapping the shaft while holding one end but it didn't budge. If you could give a detailed description on how you did it or even some pics, that would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

take off the front iron/rotor/rotorhousing
install the stock nut back on the front of the eshaft
grab eshaft at the bearing journal for the front rotor.
pull forward hard on the journal, while tapping the nut on the end of the eshaft with medium force with a hammer
the front rotor journal section of the eshaft should pop right off after a few taps.

This is how I did it instead I used a small block of wood under the pry bar for more support (I don't like that shop rag). Popped right off with ease.

I have 1 tool left. I got a heap made up a couple of years ago but wont be doing anymore. It really is the ONLY way to disassemble an engine without fear of damaging anything. As we all know these parts are becoming thin on the ground!
