Question So I've started saving for my 20B swap...

I was wondering, estematedly, how much would a 20B swap be into my FC. Now, that includes engine price, installation, and getting it running right. I'm not really tech-savvy when it comes to ignition timing and ECU tuning and fuel stuff, so any shop reccomendations in the area of Austin, Houstin, ect would be appreciated. Thanks alot you guys.

About $10,000 for a basic 300hp setup if you do everything yourself, and about $35,000 for a 400-550hp setup if a shop does all the work and adds a few go-fast goodies. The more work you do (correctly, lol), and the less performance items you add, the closer you will be to $10,000 and 300hp. The more work you have a professional shop perform, and the more go-fast goodies you add, the closer you will be to $35,000 and 550hp.

I just got quoted $7000 for a street ported 20B with 3mm seals, race bearings and the twins. And I could add another $3500 for a T88 with manifold and downpipe.

I'm trying to save for the exact conversion that 1revvinFC3S wants to do. But I'm gonna try doing it myself with my dad and a few knowledged friends. The bad part is that there's alot more parts than just the engine and car I need to worry about.

Like drivetrain peices, right? I wouldn't mind an HKS tripple plate carbon kevlar clutch with that swap. I'm sure it'll just fall out of the sky. (*Goes outside with binoculars and fishnet*)

$15k in parts.
$20k in labor.
Hope you just won the lottery.
I didn't know HKS made a triple plate carbon clutch?
I thought Exedy was the only guys who were offering carbon clutches for the RX-7.
We're running an OS Giekn triple plate on a customer's 20B, and we're not going to break it when it's rated at 1500hp.

I think you're having a pipe dream.

I recently picked up a carbon triple ATS clutch. Suppose to be pretty good. I haven't installed it yet.

Well. Seeing that this swap is LUDICROUSLY expensive for me, I'm just going to save for two + years and get an FD.

you might want to go the other way. i hear a gen 1 holds a 20b w/ few mods
search that because a gen 1 may cost you 700-1000.oo
a 20b would be about 3500.oo
you'll have the tranny (good for about 400hp)
stay stock sequencials for a but or convert the stocks to dual
few thousand more and your set
***worth a search atleast***

Stock twins suck in a couple ways. Aren't they only good for about 5HP? RETed's latest project (dynoed) showed this. I ditched my twins.

i found 3 300 miles from NY and it averaged out to 1160.oo now in texas they are not too easely found. The reason people dont like to put these cars in the paper and online is that it costs about 15% OF THE SELLING PRICE TO SELL IT VIA ONLINE WEBSITE. you will need to find free posting sites or check the first gen forum here.
