Oil Thermostat?

I probably already know the answer to this but I'm curious on others thoughts. Right now I'm planning to run with no thermostat for my electric water pump setup. However, I can later add an inline thermostat if needed. Now I was thinking about the oil lines the other day. It would make it a lot easier if I didn't run a thermostat. I have the old Mocal thermostat from my Sakebomb garage kit but it won't work on the 20b as it sits without modifying the lines quite a bit. So the thought crossed my mind that the 20b might be able to keep the oil temps hot enough without one haha. Thoughts?

if you're using a 2 rotor oil cooler setup, you're probably right

Should have probably mentioned that. It's a Sakebomb dual 25 row oil cooler setup which was an overkill track setup with the 2 rotor which worked great. Maybe now its subpar or just enough oil cooling, ionno. I'll find out when track season starts but now I need to decide if I should install the thermostat or not.

Think I decided. Just gonna run it straight without a thermostat. All I need to make the old lines work is a straight union and a 90* male to female union. If I later decide to change it, I haven't really spent much anyway. This saves a bit of time too since its literally just connect those 2 fittings instead of having to make new lines to do some weird bends (due to spacing).

sounds like a plan! i'd actually only be worried about it if you used the thermal pellet, if its not hot enough it'll be open

If you going with out a thermo, keep an eye on your oil temp, too cool, block half of the oil cooler, If its nice and hot no need to worry about it only in cold whether, it might get the oil to cool.. all in all it will be less headache to just run a thermo.

Thanks

I run twin 25 rows and the Mocal stat. Even with the thermostat it is difficult to get the oil up to temp during street driving.

I used CSR EWP without thermo, I can't the temp upto normal range even at >100*F ambient temp. Davies craig makes a themostat for EWP's. it's a pulsed speed controller for your electrical water pump which also increases your ewp lifespan.
