Question n/a 20b exhaust

i found this pic of a n/a 20b in a plane and noticed its different style headers would anything like this be recommended over seperate equal length or non equal length headers for n/a use?

it could be made with bigger diameter tube after each collection going up in 1/2 inch each time then it could go straight into 3 or so inch after collecting the rear rotor all the way to the rear of the car

any suggestions? ? ? ?

I would guess it was just made for simplicty and compactness...
Header designs like that rarely make the "best" power.

Aviation engine set-ups are engineered to specific constant rpm power ranges. So this exhaust my be perfect for it's usage, however may not be so great on a street car which uses more of the rpm range.
