My 20B FC roadrace car is underway...
The fd leading coil is a dual output unit (just like the Fc leading coils which are even better). I don't see how you could get them to work for a 20b since you would need an another output for the extra rotor.
I would use the stock coils and put some type of ignition amplifier on it.
I know on the 2nd gen rx7s the Jacobs FC 1000 did wonders for cold starts and mid range power.

This won't work a 20b application as the fc1000 is only for 4 & 8 cylinders only.
Just throwing the ideas out there.

Well as long as I can cure this random starting issue, which I believe is a function of the poor ground I chose, then this setup so far (now that I know about the wastespark thing) has been great. We had no ignition problems in terms of breakup etc.

Dyno'd again just to fine tune the map and everything was fine (got some video this time
. Just got back from a practice/test day at Willow Springs...went pretty well, but tore the front splitter off the car which prevented further track time. Car was aligned poorly which didn't help, but traction is a serious issue!
Here's a mini teaser just to give an idea of the acceleration; you'll notice theres no chance of me putting the hammer down until I'm in a dead straight line

lol, I thought that was the front splitter you spoke of making that noise.
I think if it was the rpm pickup, the TQ numbers would be absurd. Mine was screwed up at a recent dyno session and my car put down 940 ft/lbs, I really make around 300.
Could it be tire spin on dyno?

General update - my RE-Amemiya GT wing finally made its way into the country, so should have that mounted on the car within the next few days. Unfortunately I completely destroyed my bumper (and splitter) at Willow Springs, so waiting for the replacement bumper to arrive - DHL shipped it from Riverside (40 miles away from my house) to Kansas City (2200 miles away?), and now it's in Colorado. Good stuff.
Plan is to be at the time attack event next weekend!

Eventually, power is pretty much the least of my concerns right now though. I am going to be going for a 3-day practice/time attack this coming weekend which will be the first real hard test of the car. The weather looks like it will be in the 80's so also a good time to investigate the cooling. I'm going to spend most of Monday aligning the car, replacing the rear trailing arms, and fixing the front bumper.
Can't wait to see how the car looks and performs with the big RE wing on the back too.

I will write up something about the time attack later, but this pic is pretty cool...bottom 2 numbers on the left are Front and Rear (50/48) and the total includes 11 gallons of gas:

And FD guys often upgrade to FC coils as well
