Angry Most laborious part so far!

Well I have been working away now for a couple weeks
trying to making space in the nose for everything,
I have moved things around a few times now and I cant
seem to make enough room for the intercooler.
tonight I moved the oil cooler up above the cross pipe
and it is fitting in this location better than the stock
location, but there is still not enough room for the ic under it!
Of the whole 20b project this is the most trouble I have
had, all the piping on the motor fits under the hood now
and everything is ready to go but for the ic
I cant even get the holes cut next to the rad for the
front mount pipes,,, I broke both of my die grinders,,,
and it looks like parts are over a week away,,, what
more can go wrong!
After some creative looking and placement I think I might
be able to mount the ic in backwards with the pipe fitting
toward the front of the car,,, it wont look good but would work
the other thing I could do is cut the front bumper and
move the ic up and this would make some room, but
takes the ic out of the flow of air, I also think that cutting
the nose cover and sticking the ic out the front would
look bad as well,,, I am running out of ideas

What are the dimensions of the intercooler, and where are the pipes?

maybe something like that would fit right behind the bumper grill like matts car http://www.cabrio7.org/mods/ic/P1010025.JPG

that's what I was hoping to do but because of the upright
rad (making room for the 20b) there is no room for the
pipes to make it on to the inlet and outlet of the ic,,
I might have to cut part of the fibreglass bumper away to make more room..

Mike> it would be easy to do it the way matts is
done but I was wanting to keep the stock washer
fluid containers, which are on both sides of our
Canadian cars,, also the longer the IC piping the
worse the lag gets, I want to use the shortest
lengths of pipe possible.
Also that aluminum pipe is expensive
matt
and another thing, whats with all these people
into rotaries having the same name
i cant count how many other matt's there are!

Oh boy, it's going to be difficult to get air into that 4" thick 944 IC. Doesn't it fit in front of the radiator?

I don't understand the plumbing issue. What kind of end tanks did you replace the stock 2" pipes with?

evil> the pipes that come off the ic point toward the rad
and there is very little room there to make the 90 deg
turn to go up to meet up with the pipes coming from the
motor that will pass through the rad support .
I think this ic should be sufficient for the 20b no?

You aren't trying to use those 2" pipes are you? You may as well just stuff a tennis ball in the intake. What kind of HP level are you trying to get?
