Just got back from the dyno

Well, I was guessing i was going to make around 230-240HP and i ended up making a best of 228 HP on my final tune with my exhaust and air filter on. I ended up routing my exhaust through the stock TII catback and i'm not running a cat on it. I then ran the car again with open header and no filter, i got 233whp. Heres the video and graphs from yesterday: (my engine bay is dirty again, so hush)

bcool,

Aren't you running without turbos? Just curious because Mike made around the same power WITH the twins when he had my motor. I have a theory about that I'm going to talk to him about. Once I manage to get my car back on the road and broken in I'll post dyno sheets as well.

Oh yeah, I like the last part where the headers started to glow and then you tossed a small fireball under the car.

Good job!

Reese

That's pretty much consistent with the 232 that we made!
Good job!

That's sweet, I'd love to have an NA 20B like that. I did notice that you seem to have a small exhaust leak though, right where the header meets the engine, but I'm sure you already knew that.

Yeah, its n/a, the stock twins tend to choke the motor. They were meant to give power down low to move that cruise-ship of a car they were in. I know, i laughed when i saw that little fireball.

RETed, that made me happy that i got to around where you guys were at, gives me a bit of satisfaction that nothing is really off with the tune i have on it. I tuned it on full throttle to a 13.2 afr at 24* total timing with 0*split. I was a bit worried about tuning with that 0* of split even though i may not be able to hear or feel the imediate effects now but it could drasticly cut down on the life of the motor.

Yeah, i forgot to torque down my header bolts before the dyno. The smoke you can see coming from between the flange and gasket was 10x worse behind the car. I'm getting some massive blowby when i lift at high RPM, its 1 way to clear a dyno room full of people quick. I think it may have something to do with the way the crankcase is ventalated, when i pulled the oil cap it seemed to help a little.

From what GTORx7 got for #'s, if you kept it N/A, you'd gain a fair ammount of torque and hp (about 20 each from what he's posted) from making a custom intake manifold, but from what you're saying in your previous threads... Otherwise it's a damn nice setup, and it looks like you're already having fun with it, which is all that matters in the end. Nice fireball, too!
