i wieghed the car today...

it wieghs 2860 with a full tank of gas. carpoint lists the stock wieght at 2850, i dunno where the extra 10lbs came from......

its a 1988 turbo 2 with a full interior, spare, jack, radio. it has factory 15" wheels. the only things that were removed were the
a/c and the power steering. the 20b is stock, factory twins etc.

Kinda puts a hole in the 20B "perfect" static weight distribution destruction theory, eh?

Did you remove the 20B emissions? Also, what kind of exhaust are you using?

the stock solenoid rack is 3 pieces, i am only using the part with the fuel and t body coolant hoses on it. there is no air pump in the car, i'm looking for a good electric one. the exhaust is a racing beat turbo back with a pipe between the pre silencer and the cosmo dp.
wieghing the car was a pleasant surprise, i didn't really do much to make it light.

No it doesn't. RX-7s are too front heavy stock. "Perfect" is about 46/54.

LOL, OK Dr. Porsche. However, if you had my driving skills, you would want 54/46 to help keep from killing yourself. .

Not Dr. Porsche... Riley & Scott.

I don't put TOO much credence into static weight distribution anymore. After all, some of the best handling cars in the world put their entire engine in front of the front wheels.

i think i agree with pj, the static distribution isn't that big a deal. look at porsche, they have taken a car thats "wrong" and fine tuned it to the point where its not a problem

Yeah my corvair has a static Weight dist in the 39/71 range. It slides around corners quite nicly and is very controlble.
