Friend making 20B rallycross car.. short crank info needed

Hi! A friend bought my 13BT, and is using it as a stepping stone for a 20B.

As the long crank stock 20B eccentric shaft is so expensive, and the short crank is cheaper and seems good (and used by Mad Mike afaik), it is a decent alternative.

Some questions then... Is it any good? Like, anyone here got experience with it?

And also, it is stated "modified stationary gear", what is this? Good, bad, making things cheaper or more expensive?

The car is gonna be a RX8, and the engine will be fed by carburetors to simplify all work on it seeing we got no dyno or pro tuner closer than 600 miles.

Any input on this is appreciated!

Contact the boys in NZ.

PPRE
Green Bros
Curren Bros

Everything comes from those boys.

Short crank will require custom everything...

Good option as the OEM 20Bs have really dried up.

Good luck, and start a build thread

Dave.

thinner center wont hold up as well as the stock 20b center. Its thicker for a reason. Better to find a good 20b imho.

agreed for what it costs to build a short crank 3 rotor you'd be a lot better off just buying a 20b right out of the gate just my .2

Have you priced a 20B lately? You can't touch an A engine for $6k anymore.

Aye, and the USD is so strong against NOK these days.. It was below 5 NOK per USD, now it is 9... Avg salary is like 25000NOK after taxes, so an A engine has gone from one to two months of salary.

The nz dollar though, is at 6, and green brothers are nz. This factor adds to his choice between the two.
