First drive with new turbo.

I finnaly got it all in and took it for a quick spin. It's a little more laggy than i thought. It starts spooling at 3800-4000 and full boost by 4500-4800. Maybe I'm just use to the stock twins having full boost by 3000-3200. I've only have set at 10psi for now until i get it tuned in a bit more. She sounds awesome, it screams under boost. The new 4" exhaust is plenty loud even with a resonator, maybe I'll need to add in another if ther is room.

More info and pics to come.

Intake ports are Judge Ito templates, I could have gone bigger on the exhaust ones, but i didn't want to go too far.

The turbo is a innovative GT80R , 1.32 A/R R-Trim hot side, and dual Ball Bearing. I thought it would spool sooner buy maybe the R-trim wheel i bet is causing some additional lag.

Now to deal with the excessive heat off the turbo and downpipe. My passenger side wheel liner is starting to warp. What's everones experience with ceramic coatings or a thermal blanket for the turbo pluss wrapping the downpipe?

I ceramic coated my dp, exhaust manifold, and turbine housing. The underhood temps have been drastically reduced and now you vcan actually get your hands near the turbo/downpipe after shutdown whereas before I wouldn't even think about it.

It works, but I'm still going to put up some additional shielding between the dp and intake manifold.

How much room do you have between your air filter and the turbo inlet?

HPC has a 2200 degree heat coating, I'm having them do my DP, exhaust manifold, A/R housing, and wastegate

Themal heat wrap is very effective. If you want to jet coat it, go for it. $40 for heat wrap.

Is that a Greddy intake elbow? I think I'll need one since my stocker is preventing my hood from closing. How's the fit to the stock TB? Do I have to drill and tap a hole for the air temp thermistor? Thanks.
