what were the air fuel levels and size injectors on the run? 1600cc secondaries?
oh yeah and 20b and good gas milage? should they be in the same sentence
mine got 19mpg on the 1000mile round trip to sevenstock (second time its been), red-rx7's got me beat in the power dept, but even mine will drop to single digits if i drive it hard.

what turbo is going on it now?
GT42 or maybe a t78? so you wont max out w/ 628whp? did you pin the engine yet? and your progress so far is quite an inspiring thing!

Me?

I am sticking with the T72 for a while. I want to enjoy the car before I rip it all up again.

Besides, to be dead honest, a larger turbo would really only be for show. Does anyone really realize how much power that is for a 2800/2900 lb car?

In 4th gear at 80mph, if I roll into the throttle @ 70%, I go sideways. And it isn't like some drifting cool thing either. I am guess 1.5 - 2.5 seconds at 70% throttle, and I need to shift. It is unbelievable quick how fast the car goes through the RPM's.

ZZZZZZZZZIP. Done. The car can't even catch itself.

Eventually, when I get bored, I will use something larger like a T76 with maybe a 1.5 exhaust housing. But really, why?

t76 is the turbo i was thinking.. not the t78 *** type-o*** or the gt42
i was planning on making runs at 5psi and pushing on a dyno to 14.7 psi one day for some safe tuning Personally i want to get the right turbo (for me) the first time. goal of 650 on a dyno at a bar. DOES ANYONE REALIZE HOWMUCH THAT IS FOR A 2300lb-er?
thanks for helping us all red-rx7 (mike?)

half of that power on the street is great and the torque...wow!!!
With that kinda horse....Kiss the ground everytime you get out after a 130mph pull.
Seriously... if i fall short of 600hp @ a bar i think i will be able to go on. Hoping for numbers even close to what your getting. I'll say it again...GREAT JOB!!!

What about traction. How do people like you with these kind of power levels get all this power to the ground on the street? Drag radials? bags of sand ?

They don't... It's called applying only partial throttle.

red-rx7: your car is amazing! I am wondering how much of this power do you attribute to your porting/internals? I'd like to get similar numbers to this but i'm trying to avoid rebuilding my engine if possible. Is 600rwhp with stock internals achievable?

OzFeTt, I'm not sure if you will get to your hp goal with and unopened engine. I don't believe the stock ports will flow enough for 600rwhp. The stock internals(rotors,e-shaft, housings ect) will easily support that hp figure with doweling for added safety. Also I know your trying to save some money but, would you really want to put that much stress on the stock 10+ year old brittle internal seals? I wouldn't! Overall rebuilding and engine thats running is usually cheaper than rebuilding a blown engine.

what tranny are you fine people using when you break this 550hp mark?
are you able to hold 600hp w/ your trannies? t2 or gen3 stock tranny. I know when i break 500hp i will start to break trannies too so at that point i might go with a chevy350turbo 4speed good for an est.900hp. what are you planning?

RedRx7,

When are you going to the track to really see what it runs?

I am waiting for the transmission to come in. I have the stock unit right now, and would like to perserve it if possible. To do that, that would require me to baby the car everwhere.

Besides, I build the car for road racing; not drag racing. I will take it to the 1/4 mile track for fun, but it won't be anything serious.

The 1.32 is too small for my engine to pride further peek horsepower. The 1.32 is a great size in combination with this turbo to provide a flat curve. It allows the turbo to spool super quick (full boost by 2800 RPMS) and still maintain usefull power.

Steve's setup is different, with different goals. He wants a complete monster. If I were to do that, I would go with a larger turbo.

In comparison, my turbo would be equal to maybe a T04s on a 13b. Where as some of the 13b guys are running a T88 or larger for that peek horsepower.

So his is larger than a 1.32?, that seems awfully big, is yours/his divided as that seems like it wouldn't work with a 3 runner combination?

I wonder how much fun driving a 600RWHP car must be. But then again, you most likely keep spinning rears in higher RPMs. Is it driveable, controllable ? Do you think you could take it to the track (not drag strip) ?

i cant see 450+ being streetable in a car that weighs 24-2600lbs. 600+ should only be used in controlled situations IMHO.

Thats the beauty of a turbo charged car. It doesn't always have to be 450+hp.

The update has taken away the smilies. Otherwise I'd post a bunch of bowing smilies.

I guess if I can get this car into the 600whp range I have a reason to weigh it down with some audio equipment.

I don't really have much of audio. More so of just a 1 GHZ computer, 7" Touchscreen XGA monitor, GPS, etc. It has OK audio, more for toys and using the computer to adjust my EMS.
