So wait, let me get this straight....a 1995 911 6 speed will work with a 20b???
So does that mean it would also bolt up to a 13B??? Is there a difference in the end housing that makes the transmissions not swapable between 20b and 13b???
My guess is that it would work on a 13b cause the stock FD trans fits up to a 20b so why would the 911 trans not fit up to a 13b???
Also, does anyone know what had to be done if anything to make it bolt to the engine? Did they have to make adapters or did it just bolt up???
Anyone know,
STEPHEN

Would anyone happen to know how much power that trans can take? I know there are turbo Porsches out there making 750hp but I dont know if they do it on the stock trans, course the turbo cars might have a different trans

O.k. guys.. here is the info you been dying to know.. ok. maybe not dying to know.. but I have contacted the seller of the unique DeLorean 20B..
This is what he wrote me:
"The engine is a 1990 Mazda Eunos Cosmo 1.962 liter 3-rotor rotary wankel
(20b). The transmission is a 6-speed manual with a limited slip
differential from a 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 (993).
There is a company named KENNEDY ENGINEERING (www.kennedyeng.com) that
makes custom parts and adaptor plates to mate engines and
transmissions. They do a lot of work with the porsche transaxle, and
happened to know the (bolt) layout of the 20b.
They made me an adaptor plate (to mount the transmission to the engine) and
made a custom flywheel. It uses a porsche starter, clutch slave cylinder,
and pressure plate.
The trans, engine, and bolt up kit alone cost about $13000.
Jim"
So, I guess you would need a adaptor.. It would be very interesting to get one of these..

This is what I recieved asking about the rear enging thing..
The Delorean is REAR engined, just like the porsche 911. the transmission
is a transaxle, coming off the FRONT of the engine. The setup is almost
exactly like a front engined front wheel drive car. The difference is that
the transaxle's ring & pinion (final drive) is flipped 180 degrees so that
it rotates the opposite direction (so that the car goes fast forward,
instead of really fast in reverse). Some transmissions allow the
ring&pinion to be flipped so that the transmission can be used in front and
rear engine applications. The porsche 911 is NOT one of
these transmissions.
Regardless, the 911 and stock delorean transmissions were transaxles,
meaning the axles runs through the transmission. This is not the case with
any of the RX7s, which were all front engine, rear wheel drive, and
therefore had a drive shaft and a rear differential/crankcase.
Other high power transmissions of this sort were used in the corvette and
high displacement Mercedes Benz (500, 600)

Mazda rotary to borg warner T5 adapter
The link above showed an adaptor for a T5 tranny. I know the high HP mustang guys use the Tremec TKO which bolts up and is good for 475 lb/ft Torque Capacity. For mustangs there is also the option of running the T-56 6speed. I wonder if a 20B could be mated with that using the adaptor?

Yes a T-56 is a very good choice for using a front engined 20b in a rearwheel drive car... um, like an RX7 I have a lot or research and numbers and measurments on the T56 at home, and if I remember correctly, the T56 is very close in length to the T2 tranny... but the shifter is not in the same location. With my rough mock ups, the shifter would be about 4-6" closer to the dash... which could be fixed with a custom shift lever...
