Couple Front Cover clarifications plz
I've been scouring and prowling the 20B section of forums, gather info for my swap..
before I put my 20b in to the FD, I just wanted to make sure I have my info and options straight...
the FD water pump housing bolts on direct no problem,
the FD front cover oil pan holes do not match the 20B oil pan... therefor custom pan is required...
to Retain power steering and AC does the FD's bracket and acces. just bolt on to the side of the motor? or do I have to adapt the 20b's to run?
I would really prefer to use the FD's cover for the magnetic trigger which really cleans up the front of the engine, but that doesn't seem to be an option
is there any modifications or customizing required to fit the 20B main pulleys to the front? or I just keep the trigger wheel and whole sandwich as is.. and just swap it over?
so to sum it up,
if I want to retain OMP, A/C and PS, and Keep it simple
then it's FD pump housing,
20B cover+CAS
20B pan
FD bracket + A/C and PS
Thanks!

well i wanted to know if my understanding was correct..
and if there was infact a way to run a FD cover and retain OMP?
and also if I use the 20B cover, do the FD main pulleys fit on the 20B?

FD Pulleys fit fine. I ran the 20b cover with FD water pump and fd pulleys for a few years, then switched to the FD one when my 20b CAS was acting up in favor of the FD one. Only slight modifications to the pan are needed.
You do need to transfer the timing marks to the FD pulley if using the 20b cover. The indicators are in different locations. You could also install the 20b pulley that has the marks along with the fd pulleys to get it timed, then remove it.
