cooling systems

my 20b project is finally under way and i am curious to know about cooling systems.

being bigger, i expect the 3 rotor to produce more heat than the 13b. how much more heat can i expect to be fighting off and what does everyone use to do this?

is the standard koyo 2 pass radiator enough?
is the stock fc 13b oil cooler up to the task?

my car spends a lot of time at wot and idle on the track. id say for every minute its running wot it gets 5 minutes of idle but each time and each run is about 2 minutes long with the motor basically pinned open.

thanks for any help

Cooling is all about proper ducting. If your not getting the air to flow through your heat exchanger, then the heat exchanger itself (regardless of what brand) is practically usless.

Oh yea I run a 2nd gen oil cooler because of it's capacity and cost. It's also properly ducted.

along those lines..

what produces more heat?

a 350whp boosted 2 rotor.. or an N/A 250-300whp 3 rotor?

i would say the 2 rotor produces more heat. turbos create heat, turbos retain heat. also the smaller motor making more power is working a lot harder (more heat) than the big motor.

Given larger internal surface area of 3 rotor, I would say that on equal power level, 3 rotor will be giving more heat to cooling system.

I'm actually redoing my cooling system, and making some changes. You are going to run this N/A right?

(you do have my 20b twins don't you?)

I have a couple of XLS spreadsheets you might find useful but the site won't let me upload them.

What RPM are you planning on running at 300 HP?
