Anyone know about this kit
Anyone know about this kit
Here is a pic of a 20b with a electric water pump adapter. I've been wanting to go electric with my 13b but moving the alt to the side and figuring out a way to do a thermostate is more trouble than I feel like going thru. BUT, it seems that based on this pic someone has a kit for this. Anyone know anything about it? I emailed the owner of the evil7 website but got no reply. The reason I posted this here is I thought maybe some of you might know the guy or have the info since its a 20b car.

Thanks,
Stephen

Thanks,
Stephen

Thats not a kit, they may sell you one if you want but they made that specific, I have the same setup on my car, I chose to make it all myself, I kinda like being able to say that.
Damnit!!! hit the wrong key anyway if I remember correctly they are using a SPA water pump which allows it to vary in speed via a sensor to kinda restrict flow so it will work like a thermostat, my opinion is this car is not running a thermostat at all I also don't agree with SPA on the varying voltage to the pump motor as it will shorten the life considerably. But you could have it setup to shut off completely then come back on when it reaches a certain temp.
Thats what I was wondering if you could vary the voltage based on rpm, ect. I dont remember which one but on the evil7.com site there is a picture of the engine bay and it looks like there is a thermostat housing built onto the radiator, I cont find it at the moment cause the site doesnt seem to be working correctly.
Zero R - What are you doing on your car for a thermostat? Also, what pump are you using and how many GPH is it? Is it loud at all?
Thanks guys,
Stephen

I am running a CSI 935 I believe no thermostat I have the pump wired to come on at 175
they seem to have changed their name???I wouldn't say it's loud but I don't think my car is either!!

So when you set the pump to come on at 175 how high do the temps get before it starts to come back down to 175? Does it just get to 175 then hold there or what? It seems like it would be more prone to having the temps flucuate a lot. I would want my water temps to stay around 185 degrees or so but if the temps are climbing fast it seems like it would get pretty hot before falling back down to 185.

I couldnt find a 935 on there, I did see a 925 Universal. Is that the one? I might shoot you an email in the next few days.
Hey Zero, I guess I cant send you a private message so I'm hoping you'll see this post again.....
Are you driving the car with this elec pump set up yet? Does it work well when the temps are rising fast? It seems like when the pump comes on at a certian temp it would take a while for it to really start to cool and the temps would climb during that time.
I couldnt find a pump with that model number on that link, if you dont remember the exact model do you at least remember how many GMP it was? As far as the loudness of the pump....cant you actually hear it when your at idle or standing around the car? How much do you estimate that the entire setup cost you?
You have any engine bay shots?

I have all of the parts to make this if someone wants to pick it up for less than new $, none of it has ever been used. Have the pump, the rotary adapter, 4 AN fittings and enough hose for most applications.
