AEM EMS on a 20B
Hi guys, how many people have done the AEM EMS on the 20B?
Just wondering...
I know Microtech and Haltech are more popular on teh 20B, but we have had great success with teh AEM EMS on the other cars...

Iron, have you verified your timing at high rpm? The ONLY reason I haven't put it on my 13b is because Demetrios has been told by a couple of his friends (including an employee of electromotive) that it doesn't control timing well. If I can find some factual evidence that this is not the case I will throw it on my car in a heart beat.
I really like the software. It's nice that they list the pressure/rpm scale on the tables rather than on a seperate setting page. I also like the fact that the pressure unit can be changed from Bar to psi ect.

C,
Just wanted to clarify my finidings with the AEM. The unit was installed on a test bench and displayed timing drift and spark scatter. The same test bench was used for testing other ecu's wich did not display the same symptoms.

Mr. Dee,
A couple of weeks ago I brought this topic up with Mitch at AEM tech support. He said they had an accuracy problem with crank angle sensor configuration on the Eclipse ECUs, but it has been resolved. What version of the ECU was bench tested (rx7, eclipse)? Will such a test confirm if the ECU is using the crank angle sensor hardware correctly?

I am starting my swap this week and will be useing my AEM EMS to control it since I have a T78 single turbo and dont need the extra outputs to control the turbo solinoids on the sequensial setup.
The thing that I don't like about the aem is that it does not have peak and hold injector drivers, hence you have to run a resistor box......Why would an ems company release a ecu that does not correctly fire a peak and hold when 95% of the people using it are using these injectors????

The AEM works well on the RX-7. I've done a few with great results. The problem I think that most are having is that some setting are not setup correctly in the software, once you fix that everything works fine.
