Hi, I actually can't see the point in selling them for $5000, as that is more or less EXACTLY what was paid for these parts from the dealer here in NZ 5 years ago when they were available.

I'm not saying Josh at Atkins is selling many but they currently have just the thick centre plate for sale for $5600usd.

Cheers Rodger

Yes, Mazdatrix also shows the thick center for about $5600.00

Call Mazdatrix and Atkins and ask them how many they have sold at that price..

Surely, they will tell you they have not sold any.

No one will spend that when you can still source a C or D code longblock for $4500.00 to $5000.00

For the record, I have 4 on the shelf. All 4 are BNIB, never even opened..they arent worth $5600.00 each..

So until there are Zero available longblocks ( which may happen someday) $5600.00 is not going to happen.

All of the otherside plates are still available for standard sideplate pricing.

If you found someone willing to buy, who had 5000.00 to 6000.00 I would suggest you sell

or sit on the parts about 10 more years and gamble what they may be worth then...
Hell they may even be worth less..

$8600.00 USD in this economy is not going to happen

A post with some pics of the new 20b parts -- plates/housings, just before I sold them on to Rodger.

Well 6 yrs on and the going rate here in aust for a used 20b centre plate
is 2500 based on the 3 i sold last year without the centre gear. I
generally part out 3-4 20b engines a year, though only seeing 2 last
year and none so far this year..

I have accumulated another couple of new centre plates (after seelling
a couple of them for 2500 all those years ago)

Of my 3 new centre plates and 2 full complete sets of brand new 20B plates,
9 rotor housings, none of my new stuff is for sale as soo much of this stuff
is hard to get in good used condition these days. Corrosion being the biggest
issue on import engines followed by spun bearings (where apex seals were
once the biggest worry).

With used stuff getting harder to find here in aust so im reluctant to sell
anything these days, with 2 sets of used plates, 2 rotating assemblies
on the shelf also allocated for my own use only.

I hope after market stuff becomes more readily available here in aust as id
hate to see the lack of parts stocks spell the end of the coolest engine of
the all. The 20B.

I still have some young late series engines (collected in 2005-2006) that
ive kept all these years wrapped in industrial wrap and full off soluable
oil in the cooling jackets. I had some out of the rack late last year for some
silicon spray and a re oil and re wrap and back into the racks. A couple of
2 rotor cosmos in there also. Enjoy.

That really makes me question buying an engagement ring................

Luckily she's on board for an RX8 this fall, 20B next summer, and an RX4 in a year and a half.

JDriftM, I don't think many of us would have 20b's unless our girlfriends/wives let us. It's nice when they understand/tolerate our obsession.

my friend bought a used thick center iron off of ebay a few weeks ago for $50. it looks like its ok in the pics too. maybe its bad but for $50 it doesn't matter.

i agree, even though its used $50 is a really long way from $5000

Blackade,

I was literally given our project/purchase list the other day:

a Honda Fit for her
an RX8 for me
20B for my 7
finish my REPU
68 Beetle Hardtop resto
74 RX4 restomod for her
70s-80s Porsche 911

I definitely lucked out...my favorite sentence she says to me, "Once I have a ring on my finger, you can do whatever you want (car related)."

that was one had cracks around where the centre bearing would go, don't know why anyone would buy that unless they wanted to display it... so for $50 it is money down the drain unless he intends to sell it for the weight of cast iron to recycle.

About 2 months ago i had to source 2 brand new plates for a customer from Mazda Motorsports. At 4500.00 a piece. Most people that are in to these engines and have the capital to spend on them don't post on any forums. Out of the last 10 engine rebuilds i have done 8 never heard of the rx7 Club or any other forum... They are out there, that will spend what it takes to have new gear ... I'm personally siting on 4 new center irons and 6 new center gears. I'm hording for sure .....
