2 T70 on a 20b

what do you guys think about using 2 T70 turbos on a 20b engine. What comparison would it make compared to a single.

Use one big single turbo. The only thing is it makes a greate show car, but for performance one turbo can do the job. Use a thumper.(Did one on a 13B a few years ago, it worked greate)

just makes it unecessarily complex. either go single or triple. both are simpler because you don't have to divide 3 exhaust ports into 2 turbos.

I would use 2 hks gt2835R. depending on your fuel set up and if your motor is ported and ecu you would be able to make over 600 horsepower easy

Done it already!
It's possible and can be done a couple of ways.

I think all you may need to do is put a "Y" type splitter on the midle exh. runner dividing it into two to feed each of the two turbos. may not be the best but it will work .

Oh, you can do it, but it's not efficient.

Hmmm...........3 to 1 to 2 sounds the best way.
Merging all three exhaust runners into one/collector and back out to two runners....one for each turbo.

I wonder if there is adequate room to make a 3->1->2 exhaust manifold while still placing the turbo in a good location and still having the manifold designed well.

I'd just run one big turbo or 3 smaller ones.. Three cheap To4b's or e's would rock, but the plumbing would be hell as would be trying to figure out which turbo is leaking oil past the rear seal..

i was thinking about running 3 to4b's on my street ported 20b 1stgen at 18psi max....i was think about running each turbo at 6-8psi x 3 would be 18-24psi total, then a friend told me that 8psi X 3 would be only 8psi at the intake manifold....from what he said, only the CFM would be multiplied not the PSI....IS THIS TRUE???
Also which single turbo would be good for a 800hp street car,T-88 or GT45???i was told that the t88's exhaust housing (1.15) is to small for a 20b....i would like to get 600-650hp on the streets & 750+ on the track....what do u guys recommend???

You have a street-ported 20B 1Gen? Got pics?

Your friend is correct. You would have to run them in-line to multiply the boost, which probably wouldn't be very efficient.

I have no idea. When I see a 800hp 20B street car, I'll let you know.

i built a new oil pan,new engine cross member, new tranny xmember, cut firewall to move the motor 10-12" back and alot more to get that motor in there....the motor sits to far back to use the stock twins, they would hit the firewall & idler arm...when its done it'll have 10" wide slicks & a ladderbar setup, when it's tunned right i'm hoping for 8.90's....first i need a tuner like Crispeed to make those numbers happen

I'm running a q-trim T76 with a a/r .96 right now on the stock ported engine, but I will be running a 1.3 a/r on the side ported motor and I'm shoothing for a max of 700 hp and I already know there will be no way in hell of keeping any form of traction in the car. Any of the Y2K T-80 or 88 turbo's will do what your asking for however. Also running say 3 x To4e's would probably cost you less or about that same as one good big single T series turbo, but plumbing it all in the car could be a serious pain in the ***.

It depends on horsepower goals.
We're testing a similar setup presently on a 20B aiming for 1400hp!
